also, these arent new? my local pottery painting place has tons of these but unbranded. its not necessarily needed, but it definitely can be helpful when. you have alot of people using the same water

The appeal I see for it is less cross contamination of color from the water, and fetching a cup/cleaning it out less often. I found when painting smaller sometimes the paint water can mess with color mixing more than when painting bigger. (But I get that other people definitely don’t get as bothered by such things). As far as for bigger paintings it really isn’t as useful and a cup definitely suffices. Plus there’s the “paint puck” I recently saw another KZbinr test which holds more water, has scrubbers to help clean the brushes, and just overall more features lol.
@star1wolf2

@@lindseylou413 Ah they should really market it even more for water coloring as that’s another medium that cross contamination of color even in small amounts can be bothersome in.

Honestly, an ideal version of this would have two reservoirs. A deeper one and a more shallow one (except not as shallow as the one in the video.) The shallow reservoir is used to wash your brush first, and the second is to clean off remaining paint. This already the ideal set up for most artists. Having two cups of water makes it so one can get EXTREMELY dirty and still leave the second fairly clear. If they achieved the same with this, where only the shallow reservoir is flushed and not needed to flush every single time, then it would be a super efficient setup.

As someone that also miniature paints, I agree. It feels pointless, especially when I have an old sauce jar that's on the larger size. Also, I know my cats would drink out of it if I wasn't careful and left it out.

absolutely same, though by now i have adapted to having three water containers for different "levels" of dirty water and a big jug that I will pour my dirty paint water of the first container into (then I refill that one with the water of the second one because that one is cleaner, I refill the second with the third and then get new water for the third) + a water bottle so I only rarely have to get up to refill now, it's really handy :)

Hi! The thing that I liked about your video was your honesty, you were honest about how you treat your brushes, about your messiness and, since there are a lot of artists on the internet pretending to be perfect, and clean, and that they are not clumsy or aggressive toward their art supplies, it's nice for a change to see someone being as honest as they can be about that. Thank you for that

I have seen a fair "few" of your videos and can say when you said your "aggressive" and I automatically think "well atleast with this you can't destroy your brushes by leaving them in the water too long" this little gadget won't allow you to do that, so that is maybe the only plus side for this gadget, lol. This gadget would also stop artists from drinking there paint water my accident, thinking it was there drink ( I have done this a couple of times). I would just have the silicone thing that sits at the bottom of a normal water cup to clean my brushes, it works for me. Keep it up.

Hi Chloe, been a fan of yours for a while now. Personally I am a newbie when it comes to making art and it's your down to earth videos that have inspired me to start something I have been interested in for a while, but was never given any opportunity to explore, and that is learning to draw and paint. In one video I remember you stating you made a mess or a mistake on an art project, but in the end you loved what you ended up creating. For me, I never started art as I never learned it and it's not intuitive for me, so seeing you a professional artist who shrugs mistakes and mishaps and learning from them greatly inspired me to start this journey. So thank you.

I always see stuff like this all over my Instagram feed. So I love seeing you test this out. I also like that authentic when reviewing these products. And I love that your honest about being a messy painter, cause I am too. :)

I love your honesty in the video, it’s so refreshing and I agree that this tool would use up more time especially those who mix colors with their brushes like gouache and watercolor users. As a mini painter it looks fun but.. a lot of plastic.

I like that you sacrifice your time and sanity to give us authentic experience of how those products actually work in real life and having fun with it. xD I think the idea has some potential but not in the form that it is now. How I manage my going-to-change-water situation is that I have 3 jars around me. One for cool colors, one for warm and one for extra cleanliness. Works fine so far for watercolors at least.

I Love how relatable;e you're "I'm a messy artist" like gurl me too. My friends call me a gremlin when it comes to art. But yeah thank you for being your quirky self and not editing out all the little side notes you make because personally, that's what makes your videos so entertaining for me.

I like how you don't edit out how messy art can be 😆 I'm honestly not sure if I would use this much but at the same time I think it's pretty cool

I really like the comparison you between the little device and an actual cup of water. It was nice to see an actual comparison of the 2 cleaning methods side by side. It definitely seems like more of a mini painting thing like you said since it's pretty small, but it was also nice seeing what a good stopping point size wise would be. Honestly, this might be something i look into when I start mini painting it's definitely really cool.

I like that you showed several sizes with the brushes to see how well it worked and the comparison using a glass versus the brush rinser.

I like how much detail you go into about the pros and cons (like the ridges and depth) and what it is and isn't suitabfor, rather than just rating the product as good or bad
