To get the giant Christmas lights to work properly, you need to use a translucent colored paint, like the kind you'd find in the automotive section, not a normal opaque spray paint.

Next time you want to do a TikTok project video, build it they way they do it, and then build it Malecki-style. The tree tray could be really fancy with like an end grain cutting board bottom and a nice, strong frame around it.

Hey, i just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your videos, you remind me of my uncle a lot. Idk why, but you do John. He committed suicide in May, and I really miss him, i wish I listened to my gut feeling and visited him one last time because we lived within 2 miles of each other and now I won't be able to. So thank you for somehow reminding me of him.😊♥️

The issue with the star is that all of the points are supposed to be equal distance from the center. Since they were drawing the points all the way to the corners and edges of the rectangle, irregular distances from the center, there was no way the star was going to look right. But tbh it fits the vibe fine, this tree is supposed to look like a hillbilly DIY project.

Something huge and more complicated? How about a backlit, inset gaming table with cup holders and a topper to make it a dinner table. 8 feet long x 4 feet wide. Drawers in the side for cards, mini figs, map tiles, … Something that serves as a game day dinner table with removable/reversible top to play games on for up to 8 people. Games such as Gloomhaven, Marvel Legendary, Imperial Assault, Ascension Tactics, Marvel United, Brass, Anachrony, Apiary … lots of pieces, lots of space, large play-mats and/or map tiles with room for player boards dice rolling and snacks! Absolutely LOVE your builds and wish I had the time, resources, and talent to do even half of what you can do! Completely AMAZING! Thank you!

I like the tree idea at the end. You don't even have to do it around the mail box that is a good idea. And if you do it right. The first time you install it would take you the longest because after that you could have it already together for the next year.
@nohandle227Күн бұрын
For your star, you may already know this, but to find the degrees of any polygon you divide the number of sides by 360, that will give you the degrees you need: Examples: 4 sides, 4/360= 90 degrees. For the star 5 sides, 5/360= 72 degrees. knowing you need 72 degrees will give you a perfect star.

I was thinking about the Christmas Tree overnight and just came back to double check my suspicion, at 6:57 where you can see the TicTok video and your version, you can see his slats are drilled on the long edge and yours is on the short edge. What this does is allows him to fan out 2-3 times more than you're able to giving the total rotation. It will also allow for a thicker dowel that will give more stability to the tree. Your base is so much better... plus paint the star and it will be awesome! Keep up the good work
@SnowieShiba2 күн бұрын
I noticed this as well. Idk if he would've needed more wood to do it like the tiktok though?
@RyanPortsmouthКүн бұрын
@@SnowieShiba I think for the same size tree you're right, he would have probably needed more wood, but there was a fair bit of waste from that SUPER satisfying cut, how much that actually was is hard to say, he could have also made a smaller tree with the same amount of wood getting the full rotation using the single bundle of timber.

9:00 - I built this exact set of lights using soda bottles. Run your hole saw in reverse. The teeth moving backwards are sharp enough to cut/melt the plastic. If you run it forwards, the teeth are way too aggressive and will bite you in the hand every time. Ask me how I know.
