"Sirocco is the name of a Mediterranean windstorm in the desert, which happens to be the way our protagonist defeats his enemies in the end. In a nutshell, a man and his love are framed for a crime and hunted down in a desert town (part one).The girl is shot during their initial escape and our man carries her to safety, but her wounds are too great and she finally dies in his arms (part two). In part three, our hero seeks shelter from a friend, where he formulates his plan of attack that leads his enemies to their demise and his sweet revenge. Once again the theme of Karma is displayed." - Brent Walsh on the Frames

Jared Smith Makes sense. This album is named Connector, as it connects the story. The second is named Satori, which means sudden enlightenment, something his love's death gave him, which is also how he made the plan in the first place. The third, is conveniently named Karma Never Sleeps. All of it makes sense.

I think it's so crucial that they left "sun, see the sun" at 4:19 singular, without a harmony or any doubling. It's the most powerful moment in the song, and Brent's voice nails that moment all on its own. Things like that show how well written and produced this album is, I love it.

Oh man, I love how the first track off the album both opens and closes this song, how the themes of every song interweave, and how each song musically influences one another. Both Connector, and I The Mighty as a band, have single-handedly captivated and shaped what makes up my musical identity today. Such a great album!
@treypayne4959 жыл бұрын
This song is almost bitter-sweet. The Frame was released in descending order. If you were to look at the lyrics of the other two, the third song mentions how he has lost hope and given up, but his "friend who would take them in" didn't. The second song explains the death of his wife/girlfriend/partner. The most interesting thing I find about the two other frames is that in both songs he says "But they already took her from us," while this song says "I won't let them take you from us." It's just a unique thing to notice in the songs, seeing how I The Mighty knew that everyone would be waiting on this song. I like the subtle changes they made in this song.
@winrap118 жыл бұрын
The different sounds, one could even say chapters, of this song is more than amazing. Intro, body, ending... all unbelievable. There aren't enough positive adjectives to describe the beauty and brilliance of this song. The ending... "I promised her she'd see the sun..."

Aware of the great job these guys have done, and the amount of effort they put into their music, I listened through the whole record thanks to fuse.tv and was progressively (slightly) disappointed, after totally loving Satori. I must say I had greater expectations for their second full-length album. However, this last song contains everything I wanted to hear. What a great tune; so good that it saved the album for me. Hope to hear more songs like this, "Speak to me", "Embers", or "The quick fix" in your next albums. Best wishes. \m/

Ben Starling We'd meet with no light in the blanket of night. We'd talk of the Keepers, our hatred was high. I will always remember the way he was acting that night... We hashed out a plan that was tactful and slow. We'd overthrow them before they would know. Still, he had his agenda and chose me to star in his show. So it goes... We gathered in the early morning sun to watch the weekly hanging. Whose life ran out of luck? A friend of ours whose motives fit the bill, for their age old ideals. It's a fear game. No the narrative never improves: You fuck with us, you lose. Run, run for your life! Jig is up and we're running out of time. If we make it through night, I will never let you go. Such is the price you will pay if you trust the man in white. But mark my words, he'll find the wrong end of my knife. Inside the watchtower we stood when he shot our confidant, then pushed him off the roof. He threw the gun down at my feet and just as they came for me he smiled from check to cheek. Run, run for your life! Jig is up and we're running out of time. If we make it through night, I will never let you go. Such is the price you will pay if you trust the man in white. But mark my words, he'll find the wrong end of my knife. No more home. Leaving all we know. I thought we were safe till I looked at her hands. The small of her back, the blood hit the sand. I will always remember the calm in her voice as she said: "You must go this alone. I won't make it, my love. My heart will grow tired, my legs will grow numb." And I knew it was true but I promised her she'd see the sun. The sun. See the sun. The sun. Feel the sun. So we wait for a miracle once again! I won't let them take you from us! ----------- Yes, it bugged me, too....
