It would be great to see a comparison of the Infinity and the Evolution so we can really see the pros and cons of each! I'm decent with an airbrush, but don't know if it's worth nearly twice as much for me to invest in the Infinity

Hey man, the evolution is the every mans workhorse! Its probably the best airbrush for airbrushing armies, getting speed to your paint jobs and stuff. The infinity is designed for precision and fine detail. They have two different purposes. If its your first airbrush, get the evolution! If you're looking to get in to detail work, get the infinity as its the best precision tool1
@rankcolour8780
@rankcolour8780 14 сағат бұрын
A brush like the Infinity or Micron is PURELY for fine detail work. Unless you are planning to freehand eyeballs on minis. paint skin texture in photorealistic art or do sub .5mm strokes it won't make any difference to you compared to an Evolution. It's a tool designed for a purpose if you don't use it for that purpose you may as well be using any other tool. TBH if all you paint is minis even an Evolution is overkill unless you are hyper-elite with fine detail work.

Can you please do an in-depth comparison between the Giraldez Infinity and 2024 Infinity aside from the obvious nozzle, needle and cap combo improvements? What is it like when pushing down the trigger for air? Is the 2024 Infinity offers the same resistance as the Giramdez? Thank you
@squidlybits1985

@@kramt32 hey man, the trigger's are adjustable, so you can have a softer feel if you prefer. When it comes to the airbrush, it's been completely redesigned. Not a single part is the same. The girsldez Infinity was two years ago probably the best h&s airbrush. But they've made a lot of changes since. :)

The evolution is the workhorse airbrush, built for speed and easy of use but still able to do most detail work. The Infinity is literally designed to be best at two things, detail work and control. So if you're looking to do more detail work, the infinity will be insane. If you're looking for an airbrush thats the best for armies, the evolution is for you!

I am so torn, aside from it looking beautiful is it really that much better than an entry level airbrush? I've been using an Iwata Revolution CR, aside from it loving getting clogged after use (I am probably not blameless here, spraying through clean water it still gets stuck), its not a bad airbrush. I just wonder if this is really that much better or if its more of a name thing? Shipping for me is always a pain so if I do go this route I don't want to have to keep buying spares (being in the arse end of the world for hobbies sucks sometimes)
@mackpackable
@mackpackable 19 сағат бұрын
I have the previous version of the H&S Infinity CR Plus and it's amazing. You can tell it's extremely well made. The tolerances are super tight, which I feel gives more control than the more loosely fitted airbrushes I used before. That said the only other airbrushes I have used before I got my Infinity were super cheap airbrushes, so I don't really know how it compares to a mid-range airbrush like your Iwata Revolution. I bought my Infinity CR plus 2in1 with two sets of needle+nozzle and two differently sized cups for ~210€ and free shipping. I am happy with the product I received for the price I paid. It looks like the 2024 version had a fairly large increase in price and also comes with just one needle+nozzle set. If I am not mistaken the 2in1 version of the 2024 Infinity is ~350€. It is really expensive and replacement parts for it are also quite expensive. I only use my Infinity for detail work and keep using my cheap airbrush for tasks where precision is not as important. If you can afford it and you want to treat yourself to a great hobby tool then I recommend it. If ~300€ + shipping is a lot of money to you I would consider staying with your current airbrush.

@@mackpackable Ye, its around 300€ for the 2in1 set. Not un-affordable but I also don't want to waste money (and as you said, it is an expensive airbrush). Its more the question does it actually perform better?

The comments section here is wild 😅 Squidmar: "We are releasing a Squidmar special edition of the new Harder and Steenbeck Infinity 2024! Here is the story of how all that happened. Click link in bio if you would like to buy one." People: "Dude, WTF? This seems a lot like an advertisement. Why would you advertise your newly released products on release day on your own KZbin channel? I am shocked by this behaviour! Shooketh!!" 🙃 Needless to say after using my H&S Ultra for several months and having a great time with it, and after performing my own due diligence of "is this a good deal? Do I need this?" I've gone ahead and ordered the new airbrush. The Squidmar edition having air pressure adjustment on board really sold it for me as I have literally just been researching how to add this to my Ultra this week after finding I would like to be able to easily be able to adjust pressure when switching between general painting tasks and very fine detail work, without having to scramble around under my desk and adjust the pressure regulator on my compressor. I hope you sell lots of them and congrats on being successful and respected enough to be in a position to release another range of Squidmar edition stuff. Great times! 😍

Dude fully agree, these comments are ridiculous. People just want to be mad about everything these days. I didn't really understand that feature the way you described it. Most airbrushes have a dual action trigger that lets you control air flow and how open the nozzle is. Is that not what this is?
@Weldinggoggles
@Weldinggoggles 16 сағат бұрын
@@cbjewelz I *think* that the bit where the airline connects on to the airbrush has an adjuster built in, it certainly looks different to the same part on the regular Infinity 2024 in the pictures. You can buy aftermarket ones that you can thread on in between your quick disconnector and the airbrush, but these look a bit more "integrated" so I'm hoping that's what it is and that it works nicely. If so, then the fact that you are paying a bit extra for that feature/component means it's really very little in terms of paying extra to get the Squidmar edition over the vanilla edition in terms of paying for the decor and the exclusivity, which is pretty cool 👍🏻

The difference is just that you get two needles and nozzles in 2 in one. So one finer and one larger needle for more batch work. You can upgrade later, usually you save a bit of money buying it as a bundle. The solo come with just one of the needles. With the squidmar infinity its the finer needle, and the evolution comes with the bigger for ease of use to be more like a workhorse machine!

Super happy for you that you can be in this position with H&S, but I just wondered if you received your 2024 model for free - i think it's a requirement on KZbin to declare that at the start of the video and I would hate for something so small to cause you a headache later on! Love the look of the new airbrush, and as someone saving up to buy their first one it's exciting to see them getting better and better each year 😊

Hey Matt - the Giraldez trigger is designed to help you to learn to paint LIKE Angel... so it is purposely designed to be impossible to get along with unless you position your finger the same as Angel i.e. on the rear part of the pad - that position is quite key to his technique of tapping the trigger to create small burst of paint. He encourages the airbrush to do this by pushing down behind the centre of the lever... BUT if you really hate it, then you can swap it out for the Evolution 2024 trigger - it works beautifully and is designed to be an alternative - part number 712320 and available most places now. Hope that helps! W

It looks nice but there is no need for an airbrush that costs 200+ when just painting minis or even larger models a £150 airbrush is more than capable for all top work
@Almindale
@Almindale Күн бұрын
Strong disagree. If you're painting stuff for competition or what super fine control then it's a great airbrush and worth the investment. If you're like me and a mid range brush is fine, then the evo does the job.
@darkseas3846
@darkseas3846 2 сағат бұрын
@@Almindale the thing is if you are painting to that high standard you’d be a good enough painter to use a 150-200 airbrush to its fullest I’ve seen so many professional on here using mid range airbrush’s I think Sam lenz even uses a cheaper one and still does incredible competition winning work . Someone skilled with an airbrush will always be able to achieve top quality work with a mid range brush like the IWATA hp-cs . If you are an average painter then how do you know a more expensive brush would be any better for a professional? you don’t that’s the thing
@Almindale
@Almindale 2 сағат бұрын
@darkseas3846 that's not necessarily a good example though. Just because someone is a professional painter, doesn't mean they're using an airbrush to its full potential. The crux of your argument is a cheaper airbrush will do just as good a job (if I'm interpreting you correctly). But if your argument is "not everyone needs an airbrush this high end" then that's a very different argument, and one I agree with you on 😅

A blind test is in order. I'm skeptical about the durability and quality claim, made up statistics notwithstanding. This feels like a gimick to draw attention to a product, which is fine, but no tangible evidence was presented, just "feels."

Hey mate, different alloys have different properties - there are real differences to brass and titanium! As mentioned in the video, the infinity is a high end tool for detail use. For the average user and especially beginners, as we say in the video, the Evuoltion and Ultra are BETTER airbrushes that they will get a better end result from because they are easier to use for people that are not experienced.

Completely honest H&S is just unnecessary. They're high priced in the US market and what's probably considered "mid-tier" is so good for painting minis I see no reason to pay their prices. I have three EXCELLENT Badger airbrushes for the price of one of these. Those are probably higher outside the US but just do a little homework and choose what works. If you're buying H&S don't consider this comment an attack. I feel like that company does get way over-hyped though.

The titanium nozzle lasting 10 times longer doesn’t make sense to me. Every time I have used it either in a tool or component its biggest problem has been its flexibility. They may have found some way to fix this issue, but from personal experience I’d say it wouldn’t last as long as others.

Lol have you need to do some better research bro... I can name at least 5 main brands of airbrush that are equal to or better than Harder and steinbeck... I have a GSI Ps771... @$500nzd I challenge you to find a better airbrush than that in any brands line up.... I have a $300nzd Ammo Mig Aircobra as well and I challenge you to find better than that for similar $ as well... GSI Sparmax Badger Devillblis Paasche.... All of those manufacturers have good market share as well lol This video is just a biased sponsored promotion

Well bro, maybe he has already done a mountain of trial and error with other airbrushes and decided that this is the one that suits him really well? He reached out to H&S to do the original collab and it grew from there, so of course there's going to be some inherent bias. But considering the brands you've listed, I disagree with your assessment on a number of them and am personally glad I've gone H&S over Badger and Sparmax in particular. Also you know people are allowed to have a different opinion to you, right? 😅

@@Almindaleand you completely missed the whole point of my comment 🤣... People are more than welcome to have their own opinions that is why I mentioned all those other brands, and I am happy to admit that steinbeck airbrushes are very good and they are definitely in the top 3 but apart from the usage of Ti for the tip and possibly the trigger feel (subjective) it is still just one of the few top end airbrushes available worldwide

The problem is that it's "high end" because gaahleri sells their mobius 0.3mm airbrush for like 65 bucks on their website that I find better than the 2024 H&S ultra that costs like 120 bucks. Not to mention their nozzles are 10 dollars if you ever break one. Hard to look at this and want to buy

Clearly cost is more important to you than longevity. I've had an Ultra for 12 years now and it still works fine. I upgraded to an Evolution about 2 years back and haven't had to replace a single part or had any issues with the brush's performance. So I'd say my investment to buy the brush has paid dividends in personal time and effort saved in maintaining it 🤷
