Hey man, the evolution is the every mans workhorse! Its probably the best airbrush for airbrushing armies, getting speed to your paint jobs and stuff. The infinity is designed for precision and fine detail. They have two different purposes. If its your first airbrush, get the evolution! If you're looking to get in to detail work, get the infinity as its the best precision tool1

A brush like the Infinity or Micron is PURELY for fine detail work. Unless you are planning to freehand eyeballs on minis. paint skin texture in photorealistic art or do sub .5mm strokes it won't make any difference to you compared to an Evolution. It's a tool designed for a purpose if you don't use it for that purpose you may as well be using any other tool. TBH if all you paint is minis even an Evolution is overkill unless you are hyper-elite with fine detail work.

Having had such a great time on the ultra, I saw the Evo and thought it was the natural progression, but after seeing Warrick going into all of the setting and options with the infinity, I can just see how I can begin to use the infinity from a mid tier level and progress it slowly into a… let’s be honest, slightly above mid tier level. I’m really excited to try it out, I think that I’ll now use my ultra for big base coats or inks and then the infinity for the detail. I am so torn, aside from it looking beautiful is it really that much better than an entry level airbrush? I've been using an Iwata Revolution CR, aside from it loving getting clogged after use (I am probably not blameless here, spraying through clean water it still gets stuck), its not a bad airbrush. I just wonder if this is really that much better or if its more of a name thing? Shipping for me is always a pain so if I do go this route I don't want to have to keep buying spares (being in the arse end of the world for hobbies sucks sometimes)
@mackpackable2 ай бұрын
I have the previous version of the H&S Infinity CR Plus and it's amazing. You can tell it's extremely well made. The tolerances are super tight, which I feel gives more control than the more loosely fitted airbrushes I used before. That said the only other airbrushes I have used before I got my Infinity were super cheap airbrushes, so I don't really know how it compares to a mid-range airbrush like your Iwata Revolution. I bought my Infinity CR plus 2in1 with two sets of needle+nozzle and two differently sized cups for ~210€ and free shipping. I am happy with the product I received for the price I paid. It looks like the 2024 version had a fairly large increase in price and also comes with just one needle+nozzle set. If I am not mistaken the 2in1 version of the 2024 Infinity is ~350€. It is really expensive and replacement parts for it are also quite expensive. I only use my Infinity for detail work and keep using my cheap airbrush for tasks where precision is not as important. If you can afford it and you want to treat yourself to a great hobby tool then I recommend it. If ~300€ + shipping is a lot of money to you I would consider staying with your current airbrush.
@MethiasZa2 ай бұрын
@@mackpackable Ye, its around 300€ for the 2in1 set. Not un-affordable but I also don't want to waste money (and as you said, it is an expensive airbrush). Its more the question does it actually perform better?
@harderairbrush2 ай бұрын
@@MethiasZa Hey Buddy... thought I would get in and reply here as I have kind of a soft spot for the Revolution CR! I really like how soft it sprays at low pressure despite having a pretty large 0.5mm nozzle. Actually the performance of this airbrush is really cool at pressures less than 1bar, as it can lay down some really interesting textures with good control. I used to use it a lot when I painted for money back in the day, when I needed to render rocky textures etc... I actually had it in mind when I designed the 0.44mm Titanium set-up for this Infinity. Whilst keeping all the things you'd expect from a H&S 0.44mm size set-up (great detail, soft atomisation, good background spray etc) I also wanted to make the 0.44mm Titanium capable of taking that texture thing to a whole different level. It's so cool. Around 7-8psi it will spray dots! But the trigger still functions as a proportional control, so you can make tiny lines of dots, or tiny areas of dots with total control. A little more air pressure, smaller dots, a little less gives larger dots, all whilst maintaining proportional trigger control. Normally when you want texture you have to do all sort of crazy stuff like trigger flicking and so on, none of which is predictable. And for the 0.25mm that it comes with, it's super super fine, but super super practical and REALLY robust. It's really the best we've ever done, by a massive margin, even when compared to the previous Infinity. As you can tell, I paint and I also really enjoy painting with everyone else's stuff too, and have done constantly over the years. I'm confident you'll love it. The Revolution CR is also a good airbrush, so whichever way you decide to go, you're in good hands to do some great airbrush work. Warrick @ H&S

I can assure you that we've worked out all the issues with the new material. If you haven't worked out your issues with Titanium, then it just breaks every tool on the machine before you ever get a part ;-) So don't worry, buy with confidence. This one is very well beta tested by incredible painters, and it's been a long time in development. We're ready :-) W

I have the older ultra model (not 2024) and I'm a bit dissapointed in the trigger response, I have to sometimes pull back more or less for paint and it seems inconsistant. I've heard other people also complain about this for H&S airbrushes while praising Iwatas. Is the trigger response on the new brushes better and more consistent now? Is it significantly better if yes? Because I don't like the response on the Ultra I wanted to buy an Iwata HP-B plus with a .2mm nozzle at about 230€. I would maybe go fot this now but only if its trigger response is not even a bit worse then the Iwata.
@squidlybits19852 ай бұрын
Hey man, yes it's a massive difference. The original ultra was designed something like 20 years ago and was their entry level model. The infinity now is not even on the same playing field. I recommend you to listen to some more artists using the new versions - I'm certain you will be pleased with what people say. On the official h&s KZbin channel there are few videos with early reactions to it. If you're able to test one yourself, even better!

Thanks for asking this question. When we started the project of redesigning the range, the absolutely first task for us was to have a comprehensive solution to the trigger issue that you mention. I agree with your description. And so I can tell you with confidence that all the 2024 models have excellent trigger responses. The Ultra, Evo and Infinity triggers have different feels, but ALL are 100% engaged from the very first movement. Hope that helps! W

I think the information on the airbrush and history is quite good in this video. Also that you mention that for beginners the cheaper ones would suffice. I'd argue that for 90%+ in the hobby they'd suffice. Nonetheless, if you have the money and would like a higher quality. By all means go for it. People commenting on this vid that it's an ad are also not wrong. Because it is which in itself is perfectly fine. There is a personal stake and bias but then again you'd not attach your brand to something you don't stand behind. And of course the quality is there. The possible issue lies, why people probably comment on it being an ad, given the channels influence. There is a certain expectation on integrity, morals and objective information. People of course are responsible themselves for doing proper research before buying something. But the influence a channel or video as this has should not be neglected. To that degree it might have been better to promote it even more obvious as an ad then the subtle way how it was done now. Or alternatively have an unaffiliated channel do an in depth technical comparison or review. Regardless, good luck with the campaign.

I haven't used the new infinity yet but based on my 40yr use of airbrushes I can say the following: I sold my micron the day I bought my infinity. The trigger response can easily be enhanced by adding one or two washers and the endless frustration of cleaning iawata products doesn't justify it's 0,5% better spraypattern and triggerresponse. I also don't like the iawata prices. H&S can keep the price of the new infinity down by producing an airbrush, witch is essentially marketed to people who will never learn how to use an airbrush (the ultra).
@javiersevillla6582 ай бұрын
I'm sorry but I need to recommend Mr Hobby Creos line (it's a japanese brand, not chinese), and the PS-771 is basically the Iwata Custom Micron for way less money (same factory and pieces, you can even use parts from one into the other). Just my 2 cents.

When its quite literally half the price of the nearest performance competitors product... its a steal. and can be slashed to $250 if you know you only need the 0.25 nozzle. (solo vs 2in1 models) :)

@@robknight87 what's an example of a "nearest performance competitor"? Also why is this worth the price compared to even the lower HS models? This tool looks just lovely. I would love to have one, I just can't justice the price for myself. Mostly because I don't do all that mutch airbrush painting. Once a month or a couple, after I finally put together another combat patrol / kill team box, I use a cheap 25Euro one to put base colors on them, before I do detail with brushes, as my cheap one is not too good for the fine detail. But I bet I would like doing details with one like that mutch more... Mayby one day, when my grey army will grow enought xD

Hey man! I’m kinda new into the hobby and I really like the Infinity from what I saw, but I would like to have a really polyvalent airbrush, with fast and large coverage for primer and base coat and fine details when I need it, could it be the infinity with the extra 5ml and .44 nozzle? :) Also I’m in love with the design! :)

Oh boy it looks amazing, I like the desing, but I'm also struggle a little bit what to choose, maybe you can help. - I do have a old evolution - The old evo is very inconsistent and I do not feel confident to do detail work later on like reforce shadows later on -> I look for a airbrush for sure the daily job and easy to clean, but most that I'm not afraid to reforce shadows, spray highlights and OSL or blend color gradiance together. Is this more the new infinity or is new evo fine enought? (I'm still a normal hobby painter) Best regards
@squidlybits19852 ай бұрын
Hey man, can you get the army work done with the evo still? If you can I'd get the infinity for detail work and use both. If the evo is beyond saving I'd probably get the Evo 2024. It's s big lift from the old evolution and Despite the fact it's designed like the workhorse speed machine, the control is still amazing.

@squidlybits19852 ай бұрын
The evolution is the workhorse airbrush, built for speed and easy of use but still able to do most detail work. The Infinity is literally designed to be best at two things, detail work and control. So if you're looking to do more detail work, the infinity will be insane. If you're looking for an airbrush thats the best for armies, the evolution is for you!
@Evilminiature2 ай бұрын
@@squidlybits1985 yeah I’m not much into armies I buy minis that I like the look of and paint the resell them/save some I really like. So might pull the trigger on infinity then since I’m leaning more to detailed work and improving high end painting. Thanks for the input!

As someone that knows nothing about airbrushes, I don't know why I watched this long ad. Looks like a great airbrush though, I would definitely waste my money on it if I went back into miature painting. My lil sis infected me with covid (who fn visits while they're sick or have just gotten better) .. everything hurts. I hate this so much. I can't even sit properly on my chair, because my back hurts, my muscles hut, my tendons hurt, my fkn cartilage seems to hurt somehow. Everything hurts, headache, don't feel like eating anything. And I'm almost out of THC oil because I was planning on quitting, but not being high while suffering through sickness? That's ... that's a no, but the earliest I can get my oil is probably a wensday delivery if I order monday morning.
