Ah man, sorry you had a bad experience with eBay. As a fellow collector, I feel the pain... I have been scammed a couple times before. And as an eBay seller, I get so annoyed with all these scammers that scare people away from the site so people who are selling legit items have a more difficult time... The good news is that eBay is known for siding with the buyer almost always, so they will help you if the seller does not.

eBay has a huge audience so it's nice to find things on there, but yeah I've heard some other horror stories lately too so hopefully they can help clean things up soon! 😢

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with eBay! I just bought my first figure from there a few weeks ago but I was definitely hesitant at first based on everything I’ve heard. I was fortunate enough to get an unopened, authentic figure like the listing described. Hopefully eBay can help you out though if you file a claim.

I would be returning it based on the condition. I have only bought one figure from ebay, and although it was to be brand new, it was opened and the box was in pretty good shape with no issues with the figure, so I kept it. But I really don't want to do it again, seems to stressful.

Sorry to hear about your bad ebay experience. It seems like its getting worse and worse these days with poor packaging and scammers galore. I also learned a lesson the hard way when I first started collecting. Don't ever pre order a figure that releases months in advance on ebay, because if you wait past the limit, neither ebay or paypal will help you and the seller will send you nothing in return for your money. ;__;

I feel you man 😢 Getting a used figure is so much pain, especially when you are so hyped for it. I had a similar case with jp mericari and a rare, expensive and dirty ass nendoroid. I got this Aigis nendo from Persona 3, which looked like the owner played with it in a sand box after a good rain. 😂 Got sorted out and bought another one tho. I hope you can get a refund and buy an unopened one. 😢 Wish you the best of luck!! Also, gotta check out those nendo stands, thanks for recomm!

Luckily he already comes battle damaged/ weathered so it might look worse than it really is. Still it's not a great feeling essentially being lied to about the condition... Not as bad as the sandpaper rain experiment tho...😅 I love these stands, I'm up to 5 now and the make the collection look super clean! 😎

Wow that really sucks on the Optimus fig 😭 Hope the issue gets resolved! And seeing as they were already being sketchy, definitely threaten them with filing a claim through eBay and PayPal (if you used it) to scare them. It typically works cause both tend to side with the buyers from what I’ve heard lol ❤️

I’m fortunate enough to say that I haven’t gotten scammed yet (not jinxing), but a little tip on what I do is to always message the seller for confirmation on condition and extra photos if I’m unsure. The ones that respond are prob more trustworthy to buy from 👌

Oh I used my credit card so I know I'll still be fine even if eBay and the seller can't help! I didn't even think of the messaging strat! That's honestly soooo smart, I think I'll try it next time I do buy off eBay! 😮😮😮

@@blaer5 Well of course if the seller didn’t actually do anything malicious and it was an honest mistake, that’s obvious. But if the seller’s being sketchy/a scammer from the start and falsely advertising what they’re were selling I think it’s sound advice to push the claim if they won’t compromise with you 🤷🏻‍♀️

Similar experience. Recently i got a figure online and it's been cut open before, i was so confused and upset. But turns out the figure is actually brand new(when i checked the inside packing) but obviously that's not your case :\

Sorry to hear about your experience on ebay, i just received a figure from MFC and there are issues (paint chip and paint issue on sword) so I kinda feel your pain. (Dont really know how i want to go about remedying it). Im definitely going to get some of those risers, thanks for the recommendation!

What you should really do is return a brand new one thats unopened and mint to them. That way you both got something you were not expecting!

The same thing happened to me but it was the opposite. I ordered a used scale figure of Chen from arknights and they sent me a brand new one . 100% new and it even had the bonus key chain inside the box unopened.

If the listing said new, I would contact the seller and like others said, if they don't do anything then file a claim. I'm always very cautias with ebay as sometimes you can get things good there and other times not.

I would ask for a full refund including the shipping and return costs. Hopefully you made screenshots or something from the original listing as evidence. I know from experience that dealing with eBay's customer service is the worst. They are always beating around the bush, like you're talking to a bot. Very difficult and cumbersome. At least you used that disappointment of a figure in your video. Disappointment is part of any hobby and yeah, collecting figures isn't always sunshine and rainbows. Enjoyable video again. Keep up the good work mate. :)

Its really is to bad about your disappointment about Optimus. That is really a bummer, you are so excited about something and then you get it and doesn't turn out what you were expecting. By the way you are such a tease mentioning the room tour again, I had almost given up. Those Nendo stands look good though, high quality, definitely a great addition.

Talking about scams, i recently PO something from taobao and the Seller (despite being reputable) vanished and Taobao refuses to mediate/refund.. communication in chinese has been tedious too 😢

What a shame , yeah eBay is definitely still a gamble sometimes. I find that with scalpers, they tend to overlook their items greatly and a lot of the sellers from japan who hook up an ebay store usually just put in autobotted messages and have none / little communication since they have thousands of items listed. A shame it's like this! That optimus is a very gorgeous and intricate pickup but having something so broken-in (although it still seems to be very solid articulation) and you said scratched, ouch man. Great made in abyss nendos though, do you have // plan on having the full set? I wanted to pick up nana so we'll see, but have a nice sunday

Yeah, buying stuff off ebay can be risky indead.... I remember I bought a Hatsune Miku - 1/8 - Love is War ver. DX (Good Smile Company) off ebay. I only just started figurine collecting, so I didn't know about amiami or even other figure seller sites. The price was cheaper than normal, should have known that was a red flag. It was only after a long period of shipping, I received it and the condition it arrived in was basically the same like your transformer box. The worst was that I had a fake figure in the end, the box wasn't even the official kind and it was only after buying another one that I found out the one I got the first time was a fake. That gave me a pretty bad experience with Ebay for sure. There are cases where they charged you and they end up not even shipping your figure. I even once got a figure off ebay without their box and the figure came wrapped in cardboard boxes haha. Yeah, buying stuff off ebay can be risky for sure. Hope your able to figure your issue out..

Not a big deal. It's Ebay. Just return it and get the seller to give you a prepaid label. That's what I would do if I was the seller.

You have the perfect grounds for insisting on a complete refund. Item was not as described. That's like one of the Ebay cardinal sins. If the seller doesn't work with you to straighten this out, Ebay will force them to do the right thing. Over the years Ebay has definitely slanted things more and more in favor of the buyers. Plus, they've arranged the financial side of things so they direct deposit payouts to the seller's bank account. If the seller doesn't have enough funds awaiting payout to cover your refund, they can take the amount directly from the seller's bank account. It's all part of the user agreement sellers accept to deal on Ebay.

i have so many bad experiences with Ebay - sometimes, people are just so mean there for no reason. I collect Monster High Dolls and i had bought this Draculaura Coffin Bed from a very nice person there and we agreed on a price and i paid same day, they told me that they'll ship it off soon and yeah. I waited and waited, i asked when they'll send it off multiple times but got no answer from them at all, while they were active on ebay, putting on new things to sell. After about a month i wrote them that if they don't send it off, i will contact the police for scamming and that's when they answered, yelling at me on how obsurd it was for me to wanting to contact the police and that calling them a scammer was a terrible insult. I got my package anyways but still, trashy.

THAT'S why to this day im afraid of buying figures from ebay,i did it one time with an articulared Monster Hunter Rathalos hunter figure,it was also not brand new,the package was mutilated as hek,and the figure,ugh,the joints where so stiff they almost broke just from trying to bend them,and some pieces where missing,never again... sorry that you also didn't get the result you wanted man,hope you can get your money back also it's funny,while you where talking about transformers i was wondering if by any chance you got the Bishoujo Optimus Prime-chan figure,then you showed it like in the very next shot XP

The $20-30 difference could have gotten you a brand new unit, and this falsely-listed figure is definitely unacceptable. Hopefully the seller complies and maybe this was just a mistake, but nonetheless, you deserve your money back and for your money to go toward the unopened figure for which you intentionally paid for.
