Why was there no sequel you asked. Simple answer is, is that director Bob Clark just didn’t want to as he was more or less done with horror films at that time. However, when asked by famed horror director, John Carpenter asked what the sequel would've be about, he said he would've set it during Halloween. From there, Carpenter was inspired to make his own slasher with the same concept, creating one of the most iconic slashers that predates Friday the 13th.

There is a third Black Christmas movie from 2019 which can be legitimately called "woke trash". And I'm normally one who defends anything woke, but that movie the director wanted explicitly make feminist and it is too obviously an agenda vehicle barely masqueraded as a plot. BUT: the thing is that the original Black Christmas already is woke or progressive, and that explicitly, and it shows how to do that well while doing a great movie. And for that it is one of my very favorite slasher movies. It is one of two movies where "girl has or wants an abortion" is not the actual main plot but an integral side story that can't be taken out or ignored. The other is a dance movie, this is a slasher with an abortion debate. And not subtly or metaphorically or implied. Jess and Peter are explicitly literally having an abortion debate, with Jess on the "my body my choice" side and Peter being "anti-choice". And the movie is not neutral, it very clearly takes the stance that Peter is wrong and a side villain for having this position. When he says she wants to kill a "baby", the movie clearly condemns that wording. Jess is the final girl but does not kill THE killer, she overcomes her personal villain.

I don't think Black Christmas 2019 is "woke" in the way you describe at all tbh. It's just trying to do what the original film did and failing. Almost every movie is an agenda vehicle in one way or another, some movies are just better at doing that.

Bob Clark The director of the 1970's Black Christmas also directed the family film A Christmas Story and Porky's ,if you are having problems with movies that have gore don't watch the 1970's version of Last House on the Left I started watching Horror movies early I was only 4 or 5 when I saw The 1980's version of The Thing and I had problems with Last House on the Left.

I actually left the cinema with a headache!
