Also, Sherlock was co-written and produced by Steven Moffat, who first wrote for and then also produced Doctor Who (in the David Tenant/Matt Smith era). The similarity of the shows isn't completely random, and I don't think it's because of the cast, it's because of the writing and story telling style that Moffat brought.

@@EllieroseReacts Futurization And The Sorrow Of Human Civilization + A Final Hope! The vast majority of people in The World are not Warriors.The vast majority of people in The World are not Inventors.The vast majority of people in The World are not Philosophers.Today most of the people in The World cannot survive on their own and this is going to get even worse as Civilization continues to advance and make people's rudimentary skills continuously obsolete! As Civilization becomes ever so Bigger and Bigger and Bigger the people who built it especially the ordinary citizens become ever so smaller and smaller and smaller.Over time the advancing Behemoth that is Civilization overshadows the people living in Civilization and magnifies their insignificance.The vast majority of people are either:born in a comfortable box or are born in the dirt.Only a few people are needed to be in charge.The vast majority of people Ultimately fade away and die in obscurity;remembered only by a few relatives.If they have relatives.As Future Cities continue to advance,grow and expand indefinitely people will eventually become Completely Worthless! From what I have seen and learned and If my calculations are correct I predict that "Things" will become so completely advanced not extremely advanced,but completely advanced and people will become so luxurious and useless that they will no longer have to leave their home cities and maybe even their own homes.Everything will be taken care of.Everyone will be taken care of.Everything will be automatic.Everyone will be connected.The participation of people in important matters will become less and less and less necessary.People will have no Personal Power or influence in Life and no need to do almost-Anything and so almost-Everyone will become Absolutely Worthless,Useless,Meaningless and Pointless.Civilization will take care of Everyone and Everything making people redundant.As Science continues to advance exponentially the only logical end point is that one day almost-Absolutely Everyone in The World will become a 100% unbeliever,atheist,sceptic,heathen,blasphemer,pagan and immoral sinner and thus:almost-Absolutely Everyone in The World will turn against The Christian God! In this Future people have no Personal Destiny and no feeling of a Personal Destiny! As Human society and World civilization continue to expand and advance,some people will inevitably out of revenge and as a side effect willingly withdraw and isolate themselves from Human society/civilization.This is "The Revengo-Advanco" phase/state - A phase/state where a society or civilization has become so vastly advanced,strange and intricate that some of it's members simply cannot take it Anymore and out of revenge isolate themselves from the outside World.This has happened and is already happening in various parts of The World.As Human society and civilization continue complexifying,more people will continue to self-isolate.These self-isolating people are not crazy or evil or broken inside;they are counter-responding to a continuously advancing World that feels more and more eldritch to them and which makes them outmoded.In Revengo-Advanco the people who self-isolate themselves isolate not,because they are unwell,but out of revenge against the very advancement of Human society/civilization itself! The World,The Coming Future and The Forces Of Darkness will try very very hard to seduce as many people as Possible.Do not be one of those many people.Just wait and You shall be rewarded a little later by Christ for rejecting this World! Those who reject this World and remain loyal to Jesus Christ shall later be rewarded 100 times as much! The 21st Century - Our current/present Century is The Most-Pivotal Century of All-Centuries.From Everything I have gathered and analysed:The 21st Century is the very beginning of the very end. No other Century Past or Future has the approaching enormous consequences that I forefeel.I will explain why We are nearing the very end itself.Listen and analyse very-carefully:Genetic Engineering and Supercomputerization are changing the demographics and have "The Potential" to change the genetic makeup of The Human population!!!Genetic Engineering and Supercomputerization are the beginning of the end.Genetic Engineering and Supercomputerization were Impossible in All-previous Centuries and in The Future it will already be too late.Only in The 21st Century are Genetic Engineering and Supercomputerization Possible.The 21st Century is "The Exact" Century for All of this to happen.This is "The Correct" Time Period for All of this to take place - The 21st Century.The Mark Of The Beast shall most probably be introduced somewhere at this point.Genetic Engineering and Supercomputerization are the end,because "They" will allow The Humans to transform/transmogrify themselves beyond God's original design.Do Not transform/transmogrify Yourself or You will suffer Eternal Destruction!!!Genetic Engineering and Supercomputerization are "The Primary Indicators".This will finally fulfill The Last Remaining Ancient Prophecies.The Lord Of Lords And The King Of Kings Jesus Christ shall intervene to Save "Those" who have not transformed/transmogrified themselves into Anti-Christian Abominations and to Destroy "Those" who have transformed/transmogrified themselves into Anti-Christian Abominations! No matter what happens we must reject this World and remain faithful to Jesus Christ and wait for Jesus Christ to return.Just hang on a little bit longer.Good luck!

Benedict Cumberbatch is, without a doubt, the most British sounding name ever. 😂 The first series closely follows the plots of the original stories but, starting in series two, they start to veer off into new material. If you're looking for another great show to watch, I'd recommend the Granada TV produced Sherlock Holmes from the 80's starring Jeremy Brett, and faithfully based on the original 19th century stories by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Thx for starting this series; as others have mentioned, we had to wait 2 years between cliffhangers; even though he starts out looking stupid, Rupert Graves as Inspector Lestrade is something of a father figure to Sherlock & best friend to Watson throughout show; also, Mark Gatiss is a wonderful Mycroft Holmes & prepare yourself for Andrew Scott for Moriarty, he practically steals show; Louise Brealey as Molly was a character added to show( not in books), but becomes integral to show & we all miss Una Stubbs as Mrs. Hudson, who passed after show went on semi-permanent hiatus; think you might also enjoy actors who portray Holmes parents-they are Benedict’s parents; have subscribed & look forward to your future reactions. ❤️❤️🤗🤗🥰🥰

I adore this show and I rewatch it all the time. Amazing writing, acting, editing, direction all across the board. I'm a huge Sherlock Holmes nerd. I've read all the books, watched the PBS Jeremy Brett show, love the RDJ films, and this show is one of my favorites. I've greatly been angered by the recent string of "fanboys" suddenly trying to turn around and say it was a bad show because it can be fantastical at times just because it's in a modern setting. Lots of the original stories are equally fantastical for the time period they were written in. This show is incredibly fun, witty, and smart and it's one of the most satisfying endings if a TV show ever.
@englishmidnight9 ай бұрын
It really is a great version, Jeremy Brett from the 80's if you wan't classic, but this is classic just new, in the books, Sherlock could see everything except the obvious, human feelings, he needed Watson to square him away, they really are the best books, this series is brilliant but it won't last long three episodes a season, and four seasons if I remember right, if after watching this you dig Sherlock, then start watching Elementary, modern set in the states with another twist seven seasons, great show.

Sherlock got a lot of hate from a small but loud crowd, who are still not over this show years later and will vent in the comments but I assure you, you'll like it very much. Then again I'm biased cause I liked Moffat's writing from his very first show he wrote 'Press Gang', already winning a BAFTA with it since he was not even 30 years old. He can build a story and do character growth, just not the way some hoped it would be, but I'm not complaining at all. Also not complaing you dived in the show and I'll watch it the way you decide to show us, just so happy you're seeing it.

You see how fast Sherlock's brain works, when they were at the restaurant, before they left Sherlock said "Oh that's clever. Is it clever? Why is it clever?". At that point his brain had already deduced it was the cabby driver but he didn't notice it consciously. Later in the show he addresses the fact that his brain is so fast that it deduces things subconsciously against his will and part of the deduction goes to his conscious mind, but not completely, so he ends up saying and doing things that came from his subconscious and he doesn't know why he's doing that.

He IS a cocky character but you soon realize that he has reason to be. He's nearly always the smartest person in the room. It is easy to imagine how that would lead to looking down on others, boredom with life and some thrill-seeking. Cumberbatch plays the role perfectly.

A recommendation, if I may...if you love Sherlock give "Forever" a look. Very similar feel with an interesting hook, and Ioan Grufford in the lead. It's only (unfortunately) one season, but it did quite a bit of character development in that short time span.
