Yeah, back then we didn't have to wait 2 years to find out that Sherlock was alive. We had something way worse instead :D Actually, that would be nice of Moffat to give us a cliffhanger with only two possible options (dead or alive). But that wouldn't be Moffat then. The man loves to blow minds! So, we spent 2 years desperately trying to figure out how on Earth Sherlock was able to survive. There were dozens of theories with varying degrees of realism and craziness. And we had no idea whether one of them was right. That was kinda torture, but at the same time... that was an awesome time.

When I was young, I read ALL of the original Sherlock stories (yes, we read books in those days...lol) You should understand that the author (Doyle) had become tired after so many years of writing the same characters & so, he wrote "The Reichenbach Falls" where Holmes & Moriarty fought and both fall off the cliff, to their death. He meant it to be the end of his story, but there was so much demand from the public, eventually he had to write more Sherlock stories. The explanation for how he survived was not exactly logical or very believable. It became a bit of a joke over the years. It's something to keep in mind when you see how they handle the explanation in the next season. :-)

This was great and also one of my favorite episodes. I'm SO looking forward to your next reactions! Also, kind of a shame you knew, because of the other seasons, Sherlock couldn't be dead. Not that I like to see people suffer or anything, but I would've loved seeing your raw reaction to that particular scene TuT

Moriarty isn’t smarter than Sherlock. That’s not in the canon anywhere not in the show and not in the novels. Mycroft is the one with the highest IQ but he’s lazy. Sherlock is the one with not just high IQ but also creativity and thirst for adventure and is physically capable. Sherlock is the perfect combination of all the rightful skills and talents and that’s why he trumps them all. He will win over Mycroft and Moriarty. Moriarty’s IQ was a match with Sherlock, but Sherlock always wins against him at the end.

I would have loved it if Moriarty with all his high tech savy things got his hands on a facemask or a recording device that can make other people change their appearance and got some random actor to play him. If they killed themselves cause moriarty blackmailed them (cause if they didn't their families would die or something like that). That that entire conversation happened between sherlock, an actor and moriarty through the actors ear piece giving commands. I wish that was the case, but no one could fake being unhinged so well, so its the real moriarty for sure 😭

A Scandal in Belgravia and this are peak Sherlock for me. It might be a good idea to lower your expectations for the rest of the show, a lot of people were disappointed with it, but I still think it's well worth watching, even with the flaws. There's some stuff that's really rewarding later on, specially from a character standpoint, in my opinion.

This is the peak of this series. Steve Thompson (writer of this episode) should be the showrunner instead of Steven Moffat, who ruined this show later. Also, Sherlock's suicide scene is similar to how Matsuda died in the Death Note.

@@kyuujinreacts my english i so bad. is lucifer satan in english? If yes Satan is a genie and is made of fire and is free like a human being in Quran. And the definitions are right and wrong, but the devil became angry with God because of a mistake that he never turned back from and became the enemy of adam. That mistake is envying God's prophet (Adam) and what God gave to Adam. And angels are like computers and they are not free and they do God's orders without getting tired. The writings of the Qur'an are more complete and more logical than the Bible and the Torah.

@@kyuujinreacts Why did the author of Sherlock Holmes copy these sentences from the Quran and not from the Bible or the Torah? It is very illogical to say Quranic verses in a movie where most of the viewers are in the West, because people in the West consider Satan an angel, not a jinn. But bringing the Qur'an instead of the Bible and the Torah is very appropriate both in the character of the new Sherlock Holmes and in this new TV series. But why did the author put something that confuses the western audience in the TV series??? You may say that this character is not a devil or an angel and is just a human being with above-ground characteristics, which means neither good nor bad, but in this scene, Sherlock Holmes sees himself (James Moriarty) and not his ghost, so he is just as bad as his rival. And it is the devil, why does the first character of the series show that not being an angel (Jim Merriarty) is a good thing in this scene? Or at least it doesn't show anything bad? Why does Sherlock Holmes hide his evilness so cleverly from his viewers (until the end of the series)? Maybe it's because the author wants to replace the old and good Sherlock Holmes with the devil in our unconscious and say that the devil helped man (John Watson) and is a friend of man.
