As someone from the UK I don't think it rains as much as people say, but it is very often overcast and grey, especially in the winter (but flights to Spain are cheap af in the winter!)

As a London local it's so nice to see someone else's perspective on my town. I'm so happy you like it here, but yeah I get you with the rain. It rains for like 8 months out of the year haha. Just visit in summer when you can, May - July, it's really sunny usually! 💕

You have to make it to Berlin then!!! My queer friends and I were talking and they told me about how they've never felt so safe and a sense of belonging there as it is a very queer-friendly city. I couldn't truly understand, and my experiences as an asian woman was very different from theirs, but I was so happy to hear that it felt like a great city for them :))

im so happy you came to brighton! i love my little city and its so nice to see someone else’s perspective on it! its definitely true that its cheaper down here though a lot of people are moving from london which unfortunately can make it difficult to for locals to afford to live here :( i’m very happy you went to snoopers paradise and i can recommend “junk”, diplocks yard and north laine bazaar if you ever find yourself in brighton again and want something similar!

side note: confusingly north laine is the name of the area not the street! the south lanes (pedestrian streets) as opposed to north laine (an area of several streets with shops) is what confuses tourists all the time :00

London is awesome, I was literally in awe of it, it is the coolest city, and to think my mum grew up in Fulham, a true Londerner, was one of the coolest experiences her showing me around, even when she had been gone so long, she still knew every alley way, every street, knew it like the back of her hand and it was pretty cool, it is the coolest city.

if you like going to a country where you speak the language i HIGHLY suggest sweden! there’s enough of a cultural difference where you feel like you’re somewhere else but it’s very easy to speak with the locals because most people speak english too!

brighton is lovely but it is NOT CHEAP! it is the second most expensive area of england imo, obviously with london coming first. i’d love for you to visit the countryside in the uk sometime, particularly the cotswolds or peak district, during summer it is beautiful! and prices are a lot more affordable :)
