After seeing his meltdowns on the golf course in a situation he is in full control of, I can't begin to imagine how he would deal with the pure chaos that is Taskmaster when things start to go bad.

@@johnj2784 Johnny JR copes very well with live radio and big audiences on standup, he’d be grand on Taskmaster. Part of Taskmaster’s charm is how different individuals deal with the challenge/ stress. You’re doing John a disservice. He’d be a great contestant. Alex must love winding him up!

So many great things about this episode. Alex saying he lost all his balls on the first tee. "Do you want the tree in or out" is an amazing golf joke I will be stealing Love the mind handicap running tally. Alex's "only interested in the red kite" Good putting by alex overall. A few lip outs and close one that could have gone either way. Also I looked up Puttshack. Looks like a fun place that I wish we had in Canada

OMG this is my old golf club!! Used to work in the pro shop and lived 60 seconds drive away in HOT. They’ve done lots of work to it since I was last there and desperate to get back and play!! This will be great!!!

Worth the wait if only for the return of sweary John who has been a tad abstemious for a while. Might be worth adjusting the format to 2 shots to Alex to start , reducing by 1 if he wins a hole. Or, of course, playing proper handicap and scoring Stableford. JR has become a little too good to be bad. Still great fun though. Alex wins the Oscar for deadpan deflating comments. Love the red kite too.

I'm working on a solution, but Stableford is too involved to explain, and doesn't give the tension of matchplay, no one really wins or loses until you've finished, and I don't think casual watchers would really like it.

A suggestion about the handicap system... you could modify it slightly so that Alex only get's the shot taken away IF it was required to win the hole. So if Alex beats John by a shot anyway, it does not get taken away. Puts a little more pressure on John to perform ;)

Not a golfer. Wouldn't even watch this if I didn't know them from their other works. But I don't understand not pulling the flags before putting, almost ensuring a rim-out (steady) instead of a drop-in. Is this some UK rule?

They changed the rule to speed up play. Opinion is divided about which makes it more likely to hole the putt, but we keep it in for time
