id say once you know his move set alatreon is the easiest monster to do a no armor chalange on him since you can dodge all his attacks by just silghtly moving to the side (exept roars bot those are rare and not punishing)

Sorry for giving this tip late but I believe it will help a lot. Alatreon has flaming super move which is unavoidable but survivable. If you eat a mandagora when alatreon takes half of your hit points with this move you will be again fully healed meaning you can avoid a death in combat.🙂

Also Alatreon can use all the elements except water but he can use only one at a time. So if you have a problem with a particular element like fire you can use the fire proof mantle to temporarily solve the problem.

Tips for everyone that have a hard time with alatreon...try a full safi build with the alatreon light bowgun (farm with plunderblade or group if you cant kill him on your own) and make a build fire/ice. This way you dont have to focus on horns and when alatreon switch elements you will have full ammo for the second phase. If you ever run out of ammo + materials to craft them let him cart you, restock, finish him 😄

The thing that gave you away that the first fight was the weaker version was the wallbang damage. It does 2% of the monster's health and seeing a 200 when knowing he has 50k reserves in the tank was a dead giveaway. But i commend you for fighting him without blight resistance for so long

I spent so long fighting him the first few days his theme was constantly running through my head while not playing. Dodging his attacks is fairly easy, but hitting the DPS check can be a bit challenging even when I use full Safi armor and a maxed fire/ice attack charm.

Dawn's Triumph is a weakened Alatreon that assumes you fought it before. (hence it does not narrate what's going on or what you're supposed to do) Dawn's Triumph was meant as an omen for Fatalis (this one supposedly fled that fight after some whoopass). The real fight, Blazing Black Twilight has you fight a full HP Alatreon. My absolute favorite fight in Iceborne.

One of your greatest fight yet. Ballsy move for going in blind, there was a whole controversy about this hunt because at the time of its release, no one knows how to fight it properly. Here are some tips for you to improve the fight because you’re probably going to farm some of its equipment. When alatreon blast the floor with fire circle, try to dodge out of the first centre explosion than dodge in, gives you a big opportunity to get in its face. Risky but rewarding. When alatreon does escaton judgement (where he runs to the center and charge up) this is the time to sharpen, buff up and get ready to heal. The final advise is a crucial, when it toppled down when it looks like he burst; means you weaken him and his EJ attack and he has three modes (ice, fire and dragon) depending on the quest it usually start of with ice or fire than switches to dragon, this is where you need to break the horns otherwise when switching mode after EJ it’s going to be the other element from the start rendering your ice(or fire) weapon useless. Two horns, two chance to take it down. If miss the second chance to kill it well … Also you can’t farcast in this quest, the only way back to camp is carting. Overall great hunt. Good luck on the next one . . . You’ll need it when facing the god of all monsters.

A little qol tip: you can remove the extra items from your itme menu (the fishing rod, the grill, the net...) through your item poutch, since you use a keyboard not a controller and you dont use the radial menu shortcuts I think this should prove very helpful to you...

If you give your cat paralysis weapons and know where to do mounted attacks, you can get two extra KOs, i also usually save Wallbanging for when hes in the air to get an easier KO for less damage. Overall, great clear! Improvements on this fight feels so good...!

Just be careful mounting him: it's recommended to know how to switch positions on a monster to get as much progress on the KO as possible, as it has a move that's a required Brace (that aerial charge he often does). Since he can easily 100 to 0 your stamina without any stamina boosts it takes some practice getting used to it, but it can help get in some extra hits when it works.

Alatreon was a pain, and it's the last hurdle to fight in order to get to face Fatalis. 😂 When i defeated it i was kinda half asleep, don't know how i beat it, but when i saw it fall, it was like somehow caffeine materialized in my brain and woke me up. 😂 I think i had an OP augmented charge blade, i don't know, it was one or two years ago.

Wow 55 carts that's good imo i think I was close to a 100 on the normal one and when it does the 3 fire ring dodge the middle then go back in its a very good opening since the second explosion is a but delayed and when it does escatons judgement(the ult)eat astera jerkey since it recovers all red health instantly its like a max potion for red health and when he flys and lowers his head straight down for a breath attack clutch claw onto it to avoid the damage and either bring null berries cleanser booster or blight resistance (resistor jewel lvl1)in build like in the safi armor theres 2 levels just add 1 more then ur immune to blights dont clutch on his horns with rocksteady when he runs or uses lightning you will cart and you can only break alatreon horns when he is in dragon mode/active and GG nice finish

Saw you commenting that you're scared of Fatalis. Don't be, he's a lot more straightforward than Alatreon, but bringing top tier shit is mandatory or he'll steamroll your ass. Also, eat for safeguard and bring a palico with vigorwasp, that's like 2 additional carts you can take. That little firework does little to no damage in the grand scheme of things when it comes to monsters with thick health pool. There will be 3 versions of fatty, one where you have to fight him a little, the easy one with 5 carts and the true fatty with 3 carts, the fade to black event. Needless to say, by the time you get to the event version you must know every attack of his if you want to stand a chance. BTW, his armor set is absolutely broken, so farm for both alpha and beta sets, cause you'll mix them up for different builds, and most of his weapons are straight up best in slot simply for the massive damage. 4 fatty pieces + 1 other piece for skills and a fatty weapon is pretty much the framework for a meta build unless you have to go elemental. Edit: the arena is also a weapon.

I think it's time that you dropped Mushroomancer and invested into the mega nutrients + mandragora radial menu crafting method to get your max potions. With the skill opportunity created by dropping Mushroomancer, go get full blight resistance. That way you won't have to bring a cleanser booster, instead replacing it with a glider mantle, which you can use to get a mount when it's in dragon active mode, which translates to more damage to it's horns. Definitely bring astera jerky to an Alatreon hunt, it's essential to heal through it's super heat wave/nova attack. It's forelegs are the weakest to elemental attacks, so focus on the forelegs when it's in fire/ice active mode.

When I played Iceborne, I used to use Latent Power 3 to get my 50% stamina reduction against Alatreon. The Safi Armor greatly speeds up the activation of Latent Power. If you have evade extender, drop it for full evade window. I see that you are somewhat competent with s, so maybe even 4 evade window would be nice. I never knew that pain you had but it took me like 4 or 5 attempts to beat him full power and I could only hit the elemental check and not the horn and fainted 5 times to that and then i used safi's drake blade to be sure I wouldn't have to worry about it

Correct me if i am wrong, but i think Sticky ammo deals almost no elemental damage but dealing elemental damage is a key aspect of the Alatreon fight. Surviving Escaton Judgement (the supernova) is solo impossible (and even with 4 players and dedicated healing builds almost impossible) unless you deal a lot of elemental damage. So sticky bowgun is really bad for Alatreon.

Tipps for Alatreon: Alatreon switches between 3 modes (Fire, Dragon and Ice). If it's in Fire Mode, use an Ice Weapon and Fire Weapon in Ice Mode. Dealing enough elemental damage makes Alatreon topple and weakens the next Escaton Judgement. I think it always starts with fire until you have beaten it once. Dragon Mode is like a Mode it always has to go through to switch between fire and ice modes. If you break it's horn, you prevent it from switching mode. So if it normally switches from Fire to dragon to ice, but you break a horn, it switches from Fire to dragon to fire. So having good Ice and Fire Builds is really important and partbreaker helps with breaking the horns and preventing the mode change. Hope this helps. Good luck.

You are kinda right. You dont need to have beaten normal Alatreon to get the nerfed Alatreon quest, you just need to have seen the cutscene and then you get access to Dawn's Triumph which is the nerfed Alatreon quest. So this is really weird cause the first time you start the normal Alatreon quest you get the cutscene and start at the bottom of the arena already, and that only happens once, and we see Fox get it in the video at 11:17. But he had the nerfed quest unlocked beforehand, which is only possible if the cutscene has already been seen??? So wtf happened here this is so weird

The first hunt is the weaker version of Alatreon and the NPCs don't talk there. The subsequent hunts you'll see have the NPCs talking cuz I face off against the real Alatreon.
