That detail of 20K over MSRP changes the “no brainer”. At MSRP do believe it’s a no brainer. Not at 20K over. Screw dealers that do that.

The problem with a car like the GT500, as amazing as it is, can be summed up in the fact it’s just not attainable for most people. A GT Premium yes. Maybe even a special edition like the Bullitt. But the GT500 is simply too much car. It also uses way too much fuel in the current marketplace. Regular consumers will lose their shirts if they try to keep the gas tank filled up every 100 miles or so.

I was getting over 17 before I got the chin spoiler and wing. Dropped less than 10% after that. And it gets stepped on. I’ll take 15-16 for that experience. Took it on a 400+ mile trip. If I was under 90 I was in the 16 range.

Some states also exempt you from sales tax if you get a vehicle that's at a certain efficiency. Not Utah tho.... Hummer EV and Ford lightning would hit that sweet spot between fed tax rules and state.

I'm a shelby fan myself when It comes to muscle cars I will admit they sound good they're mean and that exhaust rubble aw man especially the 2013 shelby gt500s they got a mean chilling exhaust too. But for me I'd just stick with a truck if I had ALL THE MONEY for lottery tickets to where I can win maybe a shelby could be my second vehicle but I get it man. Still can't even afford any of my dream trucks yet but I'm getting there. Hard work and just keep doing reviews and other stuff and it'll always be possible. Price tags are just the challenges to getting the nice things.

Mercedes, AMGs, BMWs, Ms imports, Always plummet the 1st year or 2... your example about the Mercedes value dropping to $200k is normal. Richard Rawlings always says, "you have to buy it right to make money on the resale." I bought my 21 GT500 for sticker. I have been getting $25k over offers. Every Mustang, Shelby, Hellcat, Redeye, C7 Z06Z07, C8 that I've purchased, driven and sold, has made $5k-$28k over purchase price. I own a company that makes aero parts. My cars are right offs, based on depreciation. $20k-$30k each car per year covers payments, insurance, registration and any maintenance costs. I don't ever use my own money to buy a car.. 1.9% is practically free money. I banked $45k net last year selling 4 of my cars plus $50k in tax write offs..

I've been looking at GT500s for a couple of months and noticed your profile pic. Of course, it's only the grille, but, about an hour ago, I was online and saw one that looks exactly like the one in your pic. I went back and looked at the car you're selling online and noticed that it's the same one (I think) for sale in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Just an observation, I thought was pretty cool. Carmax sells used low mileage ones close to $100k. Those have MSRP in mid $80’s. Dealers decide the prices not Ford. Carmax will sell you a warranty too! After taxes and fees over $100k. Way too much !

From a Business standpoint. It's better to buy a old Muscle Cars, there value go up every year. You can go buy a Badass Car that has over 1,000 Horsepower and turns heads everywhere you go. Half that price. But being a Retired Professional Mechanic and a Gearhead all my life. There's things in life that money can't buy. Drive a car of your dreams, while driving enjoying yourself think of how to build your company. Use the car as a asset that money can't buy.

Yeeeeeah im not sure how many peeps would tune in to GT500 vids. That Z behind you would garner more views IMO. I could be wrong but that's my guess. Dont get me wrong I love the GT500. And I just spent 120k on a LC500 OVER the 911 M5 and E63. I know I'm stupid it makes absolutely no sense but I looooooove it. For pure speed I hop on my V4S or RSV4 and run from police. So I'm good.

As a Ford dealer myself that has a GT 500 Heritage Edition in route, keep in mind Ford charges us a 2000.00 enrollment fee each year to be an SVT dealer. There’s is only about 3000 mark up in a GT 500 + holdback. If we sell you the car at MSRP most customers can flip it and make 10-15 grand. Great cars in high demand and super low supply always bring a premium.

Ford Dealerships are outrageous right now and I'm personally staying away from. I have nothing but ford's and at this point I'm seeing Dodge as my new special vehicle purchases for american cars. Every vehicle is 15k-50k over MSRP in my area.

Base BMW 230i starts at $36k. No dealer markups either. Look for a minimally optioned one. Also the Mazda 3 Turbo .
