Finally it is time for the continuation of the most requested character in our road to master series in SF6, Jamie! After doing our placement matches in the first video and doing a brief overview/guide of the character, we placed Diamond 1. Now it is time to climb all the way to the highest rank in the game.

Two mental notes for drive rush. Get these two things in mind and it makes it so much easier. I still traditionally do 66 (forward forward). But there is a macro for it now so just hit the parry button. Can be very easily buffered. But the main thing is that if you connect with a drive rush move, the opponent is in hitstun and blockstun longer. So for example Kimberly cannot connect C.MK into C.MP traditionally. With C.MK drive rush, she can. This reminder alone can help you really BS pressure on the fly.

Hey Nephew, idk if it's just the 2/3 drops in the video or if you have any trouble with it consistently but that timing after your level 3 for heavy palm? Just do the input as his kick is connecting at the end in the cutscene animation. It's kinda jank that you can do it that early but it works every time

Problem with Jamie is he doesn't feel bad, the other characters just have better mechanics and buttons lmao. Been playing Jamie since release and honestly the only matchup he outright loses immediately is Guile and maybe, just maybe, JP

Dhalsim for sure alongside Guile (but Guile is absolutely cancer to play against specifically). Honestly Jamie isn't that bad against JP, he's got really good DR buttons with his 5HP and 6HK that help a lot against him and getting them in the corner is almost always gameover with Jamie. That plus navigating JP's boss projectiles feels fun to me.

I personally focus getting level 1 and then going for oki. If I get the second hit I usually get the corner from it and I don’t want to lose oki when my opponent has his back to the wall. It’s gotten me to Diamond 5 so I think it’s a pretty good strat 🙃

If you get an OD Palm in the corner you can do Phantom Sway for another drink. I also tend to use Tensei Kick as an anti-air, into phantom for a drink. Yes, it's a pretty mediocre punish but hey gotta get them drinks up

Drink level depends on matchups, like if it's guile im not gonna bother max 2 drinks because i want to corner him asap. I was stuck in plat for so long because i priorized drinks instead of oki

Hey nephew, so happy you’ve finally played jamie, jamie isnt bad, honestly i think he’s secretly top tier, by the way when you were level 2-3 drink level, you were doing crouch fierce into a medium special move, just to let you know you can use heavy for the extra damage.

While Jamie isn't bad, he's certainly not top-tier. The fact that he has moves locked behind drink levels will always be a detriment he'll never escape unless they fundamentally change how the drink levels function. While level 4 Jamie is arguably one of the scariest characters in the game, you have to get to that point as well by constantly giving up oki to get drinks in. At least Jamie has the thing where he's an absolute demon for Manon going for him.

Jamie such hard char, he has no firebals, decent DP, neutral pokes afwul and everytime you need drink. Some char can kill you with 2-3 touch, with jamie you finally can play and get normal lvl 2-3 character

They're polar opposites imo - Eddie gives you a bag of easily executable (but increasingly obsolete) gimmicks, while Jamie has a legitimately great movelist but forces you to earn it. The real "SF6's Eddie" would be Kimberly.

I can see Jamie saying "Hater" after everyone says he's low tier and then "Jebaited" after enemy players try to exploit Jamie during times where he looks vulnerable and isn't! Jamie has been looming under the radar this whole time and is like don't worry I'll find my champion someone will know the truth about me. Jamie locks eyes with the rest of the cast says "Its time for training terrible terrible your too slow" its when most of the cast glimpses the truth.

If you ex palm, the resultant knockdown will give you enough frames to get two drinks in. Hope that helps. Idk if that was exactly the question lol

@@ericsimonson8002 ex palm into drink 2 is always safe. punish counter hk into lvl 2 drink is also safe, and a good option if you perfect parry something (since the damage is gonna be bad anyway)

It pains me every time you burn yourself out before doing level 3 lol. Save the meter for AFTER the super so that you get better scaling and a lot more damage. So many situations you could have easily ended a round
