@Aaron-yn4bk nothing will solve the issue. All the parts I installed are just adding some kind of protection to prevent it happening.

@ makes sense. I was thinking of just installing the factory plates for some extra “security”. I only street drive my GT3 with maybe a track session once a year if time permits. Nothing hardcore.

No. I race with two different shops who have thousands of customers ,one is the the largest Porsche specialists in my area the other is a few hours away and it's the biggest in their area, we have 6 tracks in our area with one being IMSA/Indy level and the other 5 being mid sized. Our drivers do local track racing of all types. This has been coming up a lot in the last couple months , so I asked recently: both shops have never even seen a strut tower break, not in a 991 , 718 or 981. Frankly if it does, it always means you've had a very serious off and it's not just the tower it's also that the car is destroyed. These things can happen but they are ultra rare and results of extreme offs. It's so rare to have just the strut tower break and nothing else that with 4 Porsche dealerships in our area, 2-3 major shops and 6 race tracks not a single person has had one, no one knows of one, no one has heard of anyone breaking one😂. This is a KZbin/Porsche forums scare that has existed since 2018. Btw the braces for the Clubsport are not to protect it from happening but it's to keep the strut together if a driver crashes their car, extra way to keep the front end together so they can safely get off the track hopefully under their own power, it's literally not for prevention.

​​@@eric.choi0811right but what you're missing is, 99.9% of the time when the shock tower issue happens, it's literally the least of your worries, it's always as a result of a catastrophic hit (as in: you've crashed and the car is going to be a write off anyway). It effectively never happens "because of a pothole" and is limited to just a tower. Despite what 2-3 threads from 2017 on Porsche forums will tell you. Last little thing: I swear I'm not hating 😂 my good friend who manages a race team and has a shop said to me "since I'm your friend, it's bullshit if I wasn't your friend I'd be telling you buy one". However if your getting camber plates anyway I see no significant harm in also buying these if you choose that.

@ no hate here, it’s all about sharing experiences and info. I have full documentation and invoice when there is a recall or class action about this matter in the future. I am talking from experience and I wish I knew about this issue before getting hit with the repair bill. So from now on, I’m recommending everyone with a GT car at least getting this cheap OEM part to protect yourself.

If it happens on the carrera gts its bound to happen on every Carrera or turbo. It seems like you suggested it only happens to gt models and im curious why it seems to effect those models only. There shouldn't be much of a difference in the strut tower from a base carrera, a carrera gts, a 911 turbo. These cars use basically the same suspension components save for the spring and damper.
