An idea for the lockout mod, an option to have a number of squares blacked out, you can't earn them til a player unlocks an adjacent square, it could be half way through the run you have to stop jumping, or that random item that meant nothing earlier you have to hunt down whatever chest you had seen it in

Mining on a chunk border has a higher standard deviation than mining through the middle of a chunk, but the overall efficiency is exactly the same. You have the opportunity to find two veins close together, but it also increases the likelihood of completely missing the vein in any given chunk. Think of mining through the middle of a chunk as rolling 1d6 with success on a 5-face or 6-face, and mining on a border as rolling 2d6 with a success for each 6-face. Either way, it's an extremely negligible effect.

I know I'm late to the party and that this comment will pbbly not be read, but for future reference: the lapis trick stopped working after 1.17, because as of 1.18 the ore generation ratios have changed. You can find occasional forum comments of people saying they found diamonds using the lapis trick in the latest mc versions, but I assume they got insanely lucky. The river/swamp clay thing still works, but at a lowered rate as far as I've heard. I haven't had the motivation or patience to test it for myself.

I don't know why I've only thought of this now, because of the beginning, but why does Minecraft have red mushrooms as an edible item? Amanita mushrooms like that are red and poisonous. Brown it would depend, but that type of common red mushroom does not have a lot of look alikes

Amanita muscaria is edible if you boil out the toxins, and because you can't eat it straight up and have to use it in stew, there's a pretty high chance that it going from raw->stew includes the toxins being removed

i dont think there is any code related to connecting the two, so while there probably is usually a village within a certain range, it's likely coincidence because villagers are somewhat common and they have a lot of biomes that both spawn in

So... did anyone else get tilted out of their minds watching this bullshit RNG-fest? It's literal Mario party. Mr. Ant giga-bigbrains his way through the entire race and just gets shafted by RNG at every turn, while his opponent just gifts him free tasks left right and center like an absolute smoothbrain. Smant had huge misplays on every step. He didn't have food, he had trouble switching to blocks, he didn't have any fuel, he was reckless several times. Also, this is just a game. Go touch grass.
