Of all the memories I have from growing up fishing with grandpa, watching him catch bass on this Shakespeare Swimming Mouse is among my favorites. On this trip I decide to tie on his old mouse lure and see if I can catch them like grandpa. It ends up being a day I'll never forget!

Knife policeman, It is so funny how you can be just like the no good idealistic progressive politicians and their even lower life media parrots who get caught (?really?) with their webcam on a major conference call when they switch it on to their private conversation with all of the female faces, and you are sharpening your pencil right there and you are not even cognizant that they are seeing you knock the shavings off, but it seems that there are no accidents with the perverts like you either. I just thank God that he didn’t turn your frigging camera on and ruin an amazing experience for the majority of men who knew as soon as it happened that our host was truly experiencing a perfectly unbelievable reality of catching his biggest Large Mouth with the complete reverence for the memories of his grandfather and all of the love that existed between them. Who would not have been emotional and exhilarated for the moment as well as showing the public that we had decent weapons in our battle catching fish for sport as well as a meal on the table when things were tight. So finally, speaking of tight, I just thank God for letting you keep your actions off camera 📸 and between you and your doctors that remove totally strange and deranged objects from your keister! Go back to living out your fantasies with others, then you will know when your grandfather pays you a special visit as you try for your personal best! High Yoo Silver The old professor Live free or die! Death to all tyrants! The truth will stand when the world falls. No Shit!

The scenery in the early morning is superb and when your rod bends under the pressure of a big largie and the braid sounds rubbing the guides…oh my gosh! But as I was watching this marvellous video I knew there were a more profound sentiment attached to catching your PB on your grandfatherˋs lure, an old nice little wooden mouse which you handle with the utmost love and reverence. Your words of gratitude towards him for the happy fishing memories you shared together are so moving. He still lives in your heart. This reminds me my late father and my feelings when I see his outdated fishing gear: his fiber glass rod, his Mitchell reel, his old lures some of which imported to Spain from the USA like the plastic worms Boone, the Golden Eye popper, the Cisco Kid crank bait…Fishing creates strong sentimental bonds between the members of a family. The film A River Runs Through It reflects that masterfully. Matt you are a most likeable type of guy and live the joy of fishing so strongly and genuinely in all its facets that your vídeos are a soothing medicine for the soul.

You should be proud to show the Marxist that are trying to destroy our nuclear families and that there was love among men! And still is in the part of the country that they hate and are trying to world shame for their success from stability of the family nucleus and the lessons of planning and having a goal that you work towards until you are what you wanted to be, and that can never be taken for granted.

Despite all the difficulties we have faced in 2020, this year has had redeemable qualities. I have been able to spend more quality time with my family, I have rediscovered my love for fishing , and I found your channel. I keep reading comments of people saying this is the best fishing channel on KZbin and after binge watching many of your videos, I totally see why. I feel so calm and relaxed after watching your videos, but also super motivated to embark on my next fishing trip. I rarely comment on KZbin videos but your video made me reflect on many things. I have people telling me they feel stuck at home, or they are bored because they have nothing to do. I encourage my friends to go fishing, to enjoy the local lakes, to take advantage of the forced rest this year has given us. Some take my up on it, some don’t, its ok though. Last weekend my family and I went fishing all day to a local lake (Castaic Lace in Southern California) and we had a blast, we caught a large catfish, one blue gill, three small mouths, and a large mouth. The face on my son when he was reeling in his fish was just precious. Anyways, why am I commenting on your video? Well after watching it, I showed it to my wife. We talked about how great it is to have the opportunity to create memories with our children, memories that they will pass down to their children and so on...we will live through those memories after we are gone. What an honor to be able to “get to know” your grandfather and the impact he made in your life, thank you for taking us in this journey. I am only 42 years old and I am looking forward to one day take my own grand children fishing, your video made me appreciate more the importance of family and the simple things in life.

I also grew up with a grandfather who loved fishing. Any time my parents drove us down to grandpa's place, I knew it was going to be a good Saturday filled with trout, perch, catfish, and anything else we could get to bite at the local holes. It was never glamorous fishing, but it did leave me with a life-long love for the sport. Which my father and I have also shared many times too. I took a break from it when life got busy (marriage, work, child) but when I came back from deployment in 2016 I knew I had to get after 'em again. (Nothing makes you appreciate Rocky Mountain waters more than the flat, infernal deserts of the Middle East!) And every time I am out there at the edge of some reservoir on a delightful, quiet morning, and the fish are happening, I can picture my grandpa smiling. With that matchstick he always kept tucked in the corner of his mouth.

Outstanding video; better content; best fish caught on Grandpa’s old lure. Congratulations on new personal best!!! My grandmother was the fishing enthusiast in her family, and as she did not drive, my grandfather took her everywhere she went. She did all of her fishing from a pier. She normally fished cane poles and minnows, but she had an old metal single tray tackle box that held seven lures, a dozen or so cane pole rigs, and a million or so memories!!! God called her home in 1971 when I was 15. I was blessed to learn to fish with her at my side long before my fifth birthday. I inherited that beat up old metal tackle box and those seven lures. I caught fish on all seven, which I know is what she both wanted and intended. I still have one of her circa. 1940’s jitterbugs. I wish it could talk. Perhaps it does, and all I need to learn is how to listen. Thanks for sharing and the trip down memory lane!!! Me and mine wish you and yours all things great and good!!! Take care, be safe, all my best and God bless!!! Chuck Knight from Buffalo, Texas. 🤠🐩🖖✝️👍

That’s awesome that you caught your personal best from your grandpa’s lure. My grandfather used to own a rod and gun shop in a little town in northern Ontario Canada and I never got to fish with him, he died when I was 5 years old in 1976 and I always wished that I could have fished with him. I remember that he had a special 1950’s truck in dark green with a camper on the back. After he died, me and my mom went out to see it, we opened up the back doors and the whole interior was lined with lures and rods, it blew my mind. I still have some lures from him too. I also have some big fish that he had mounted, with the earliest from 1972, a Brook Trout, up here we call them a Speckled Trout. I was so happy when you caught a big Bass on your grandpas lure, Awesome !!!

Love this video. My father died in a car crash while my mother was pregnant with me. Always wondered what kind of man he was and what it would have been like to know him. All I had was an old shotgun he hunted deer with. Now that I have a grandson of my own I spend every moment I can with him. Bought him a lifetime hunting license in NY when he was only 2 months old. I have been collecting a ton of fishing equipment and hope that someday when I am old and or gone, that he also will do these things and think of me as if I am sitting right there with him.

I see what you're saying yet based on your name wouldn't you say God blessed us b/c people suffered so as to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Since the beginning Christians [puritans], sacrificed for the Gospel, so God placed His hand of blessing on America, but in recent decades "We The People" banned God from all the places He was once honored in favor of our sin: lgbt, abortion, legal drugs, gay marriage, looking to politics for hope/change vs Biblical truth/Gospel etc. It's why America now suffers the "chaotic times" both you and Romans 1 v18-32 speak of: "..so God *gave them over."*

A wonderful video, Matt! I, too, had a few tears to shed over this one. I'm 81, a grampa, (9 grandkids and 7 great grandkids), plus a few extras that I've sort of "adopted" me along the way. And I have that exact same lure top center in my tackle box! I never knew my paternal grandfather, and my other grampa didn't like kids, but an old pastor friend of ours showed me how to use that mouse, and how to throw a great sinker ball too. So kudos to all the "old guys" who teach those skills to their kids, and also to the kids who remember them and keep those skills alive!

Even when I was editing the video I’m pretty sure he was there with me. I live in a house that’s over 120 years old so I’ve often joked about it being haunted. I was pulling an all nighter two nights ago working on this video and at about 2am my cat started acting funny. I got up and walked to my bedroom and had chills as soon as I got to the door. My window blinds that I know for a fact were closed earlier were both wide open! I couldn’t explain it and was pretty freaked out at first but then it hit me, it must have been grandpa giving me a sign that he’s still watching over me.
