I time travelled in Dreamlight Valley... here's what happened

I made the mistake. It was miserable. I was in February, but I did it so much my game thought it was June. I was constantly having to move the clock further and further into the future to access herbs, Scrooge, Moana's shop, Kristof's stand, mining nodes, etc. I did learn a few tricks, though. In the modern day, if you take a bunch of time to get your mining nodes to where they display a gem, they will be accessible in the past also. Here an additional trick for ps4: log into your present time, go to the ps4 home screen and move the clock to your future date, return to game and collect herbs, do scrooge etc., then go to the home screen, reset clock to the present, click save from the menu, then quit the game. Restart the game in the present and you will have saved your future progress while getting back into your nornal world. Otherwise, just live in the future and write down what day and time you logged off. The next time you play, set the system clock aboutv5 min later than when you last logged out and the game won't know the difference. Hope that helps. I wound up doing a profile reset, but before I did that I set the system clock to 4/26/22. My first day in the new world is last year, so now I can fast forward all I want (until I catch up to today, when I stop time travelling).

Correction/clarification--go to the future and click a mining node twice and only twice. It will a) break, b) keep on being a node, or c) show a gem lodged in the node. Do thisnto every node until they ALL have a gem showing. When you return to the rw present day, what your game thinks is the past, those nodes will be accessible for some reason. Even works in the cave.

I time travelled to complete a quest faster ... unfortunately I wasn't able to play properly for 48hours. But after that it went back to normal and I will not time travel again x

I once went ahead 10 days to complete the Stitch intro quest. It was horrible. I couldn't pick up my grown vegetables, couldn't get new clothes or furniture, and things refused to respawn. I pledged to never do it again.

I time travelled out of greed to a much later date. Fortunately only 8 days. I cannot harvest crops and herbs. I can harvest fruit and pick up wood and flowers. Scrooges shop will not turn over. I think I am just going to have to go sit in the corner until that time has passed to get my store back. Big suck. I did it to myself. There is plenty to do around the valley. Luckily I am now filming more in my house and in the planning stages of another mega-build. I will just have to enjoy premium shop and find those furniture pouches.

I time traveled BEFORE even getting the game and of course didnt see the warning till it was too late. I personally think it was irresponsible of them ASSUME wed see this message before buying the game. Most of the people who got this game played animal crossing which this game is clearly inspired by.....animal crossing is superior because they LET you time travel without breaking the game and the fact fixing this wasnt at the top of their priorities when first making the game is ridiculous. Your telling me i cant play animal crossing and time travel as i please because of dreamlight valley? It almost makes me want to just get a refund.

I only got this game because everyone was talking about how difficult this game is to time travel in. That you can break your game. I love to travel and I love a challenge Lol. I constantly time travel without any issue instead of going forward I go backwards. If wanna plant something or I forgot to play the day before so I don’t miss out on Scrooge shop. So far so good no issues. The most I’ll ever time travel forward is maybe a couple hours a day at the most. That’s what works for me so far.

i did time travel after i started to play disney dreamlight valley before thanksgiving last yr and i had to fully restart the whole game back over but it didnt take me long to redo everything since im a night owl , did it once wont do it again

I just gotta say your valley is beautiful. I time travel (just for outfits and furniture) but I know once it catches up the game will be normal. 🙃 Personally I’m okay with restarting since the game is still kinda new and has quite a bit of bugs, so I plan on starting fresh once they iron out most of the bugs (including time travel if they do). Kinda the whole point of life sims. You just play the way you want to. 😌

What happen to me was, I was playing animal crossing and forgot to reset the date. And when I loaded into dreamlight, I had realized the date. And now my game is broke. 😢 All thoese hours.

Question: If my GF time travels in ACNH, but sets the time back to sync via internet BEFORE opening DV, will it still mess it up? Like could she be okay if she's super careful & makes sure that she always resets the sync before she opens the game every time?

Yes it should be ok, as long as she doesn’t open the game while the switch is set to the wrong time 🥰

Instead of doing time do the date go one day ahead in date then back I'm testing this idea in a new game right now. 1. Plant the seeds and water them 2. Put the date to one day ahead 3. Pick the garden 4. Return to the original date I try it once and everything seems ok but il be backing up my game on a USB drive Incase things go bad keep you updated on my findings and oh I need my character "Dr Who" 🤣

How did you fix the harvest issue?? 😭 I've TT once, only of few hours ago, played during few days like this and it's like 2 weeks that I'm back to real time and I always can't harvest, Scrooge's shop didn't actualise anymore and friends gifts too...

@@lealb77 I found that if I TT to the latest date (so the most far into the future you’ve gone) I could harvest spices and fruit, but couldn’t access the shop/events. If I set the switch back to automatic time, I could access the shop/events but couldn’t harvest. I ended up restarting once the online aspect became a bigger part of the game and it didn’t take super long to finish a lot of the quests!! Just a bit annoying lol 😅

the only thing i have ever done in DDV is change the time on my computer (i play on PC), to get the rare animals, the one that i usually have trouble with is the rare animal that is super early in the morning, i haven't found anything wrong though after i switch to normal time, i also don't have the game open when im changing time, so maybe that's a thing (at least soon, i won't have to change the time on my computer since i might be done with those rare animals soon)

Hi, I don't know if you'll see this nine months later (your valley is gorgeous, by the way!), but I'm a relatively new player and didn't hear about the time travel issue until after I'd already started DDV. My Switch is over a year in the past (June 2022) due to time traveling for ACNH. I want to sync the Switch clock to real time because my DDV Premium Shop and Events tabs have never worked, I assume from being out of sync with real time, but I've already progressed pretty far in DDV and am terrified of breaking the game. Not to mention the number of cockroaches I'm going to have in ACNH because of this is going to be staggering. Ugh. But... If I jump from June 2022 forward to real time, will that also break DDV, or is it only if you go forward from real time and then back to wherever you started from? I find this very confusing and also slightly enraging since it seems the devs know about this and aren't going to fix it because THEY don't think we should time travel. None of their business, IMO, once we pay for the game, on top of which I never intended to time travel for DDV, but they shouldn't be able to break that game just because we time travel for ACNH. Grrrr In any case, any info on time traveling forward only, to real time for DDV, and then not touching the clock again would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

Hi!! As far as I know, it should only affect time travelling into the future (which I did to 2027 😅), but you should be fine to synchronise your clock for ddlv and not have any issues. I ended up restarting my game once the shop and events became a big thing anyway just because it’s a pain to keep time travelling back and forwards to access the online features. The main issue I found was when I went backwards to the current time to access the shop, I couldn’t harvest anything because the game was stuck in the future. That shouldn’t happen with yours going forward and not backwards though!! 🥰

Hopefully when it releases to Free to play this year at some point. I hope gameloft will fix time travel so we can do it. But I doubt it if they wil because they are against it plus we have the premium shop 😢.

I play animal crossing so my switch was already either in the future of behind (I never remember) it could have been only hours. I started dreamlight last night and this morning I put my system sync with the correct time and fruits aren't respawning or the rocks... I think i'm going to have to restart the game I don't know where i was travelled to before 😭

If you go back to the current date before opening Dreamlight Valley, it should be fine!! Most of the issues I’ve found are when you open ddlv to the wrong date and it thinks that’s the current date 😅

I went backwards in time one time and then I had to go back and forward to get the buttons but it's not letting me get the basil or showing any fishing rings appearing I don't know what to do I need help and I don't want to restart my game please help me 😢 😭

Hi! I ended up restarting mine when the dreamsnaps feature was brought in, just to make things easier. But I understand not wanting to restart and I was able to still play my time travelled save but I ran into the same issue with the basil and other spices. I found that if you travel to the latest date that you’ve ever travelled to, it should fix the problem with not being able to harvest spices. So whenever you want to access shop features, sync the time to the current day, and then when you want to harvest spices, go fishing, etc. Set the time to the date that is the most far into the future that you’ve traveled to. I hope that makes sense! 😅

I have always had my switch set to an earlier time. My Switch is still in February so I'm able to skip days forward. My game only messes up if I go backwards.

Me too, my switch was set to a past date so I’ve been able to time travel ahead one day at a time and have had no problems. It’s helped with growing crops and Scrooges store.

I tried it and i actually had to restart the whole game because my clay wouldn’t respawn. And when I restarted I didn’t get all the stuff from the base game pack again so now my house is gonna be ugly. Kinda don’t feel like playing anymore cuz I got pretty far in the game.
