Connie. I do adore your openness and honesty. You give vert thoughtful advice. I got caught smoking when I was 16. It became a contentious battle with my parents until I was 18. They came to accept it, but I have always regretted hiding I from them for over a year. Not that confessing would have changed their mind or mine, but being honest and not hiding it likely would have lessened their disappointment. Hugs.

I just turned 17 a couple days ago and I've been smoking for almost 1 year now. (I'm still not a daily smoker) And I think the fun part about it is that you have to keep it a secret from your parents. I feel like if my parents knew I smoked, the thrill and the unique vibe smoking gives me would go away. I don't want that.

@@bro-hl3lb I get that. Part of the thrill at that age is hiding the forbidden things that we experiment with. I’m 28 now. Smoking is still a guilty pleasure. Trust me, even at my age there are many things I choose to keep secretive from my parents. The he other problem with keeping quiet back then about my cigarette habit was the complexity of hiding it once I was an addicted daily smoker.

I'm 37, and my dad recently caught me vaping. he gave me a huge lecture, and told me how dangerous it is. he asked me why I do it, and I told him that it just makes me feel good. he let it go after that. I'd also like to point out that my dad had been a pretty heavy smoker for 20 years, but he stopped the day I was born.

I never understood why some people are hiding it, it's like having to tell your parents that you drink alcohol. My parents kinda just knew, and they are not smokers, they are not too happy with that either but I try to smoke only when I'm alone or with friends that smoke too. I usually don't do it in front of my family and people I don't know because I'm aware not everyone likes that. ETA: maybe that's because it's pretty usual for people here to consume those substances out in the open. It'd be very different if we were talking about... other things iykyk

when i was 13 i started smoking cigarettes because i had a depression and stress my dad was in another country at that time and i missed him so much that i started smoking when my mother found out she was like why ? when i told her she didnt believe the idea that smoking relaxes me later my father found out he is a smoker also why was triyng to help me get rid of smoking but at that time it was too late then i started smoking like connie does and i feel that im better still to this day my lungs are so damaged and im also overwheight i love your videos and i have also tried your recommended cigarattes and i liked them keep doing what you are doing goodbye

My mother had asked me "why do you smell like cigarettes?" and i had told her the truth. My father also cought me red handed thereafter which made me very ashamed back in the day. I am a heavy smoker now. I smoke a pack or two a day(quite heavy cigarettes too). I cant think straight without them. I couldnt even form proper sentences if i stopped. In conclusion,never smoke kids,its a horrible idea. Back in the day i had problems with alcohol as well,i was a heavy drinker and i drank every day. But man,quitting cigarettes just might be the hardest thing.

For me, older friends bought them for me. I did Irish step dancing and was advanced for my age. So at break time I went outside with girls 2 or 3 years older. It’s where I learned to smoke. They were happy to buy cigarettes for me until I was old enough.

the smoking cultures vary so much between nations which likely impacts how parents and children view smoking. In Europe I feel I can't escape it and people smoke basically everywhere it seems, vs North America many vape now, but smoking is more frowned upon I feel and have seen. where I live there's restrictions on how close to entrances you can smoke and inside restaurants ended about 20 years ago. Australia the prices are so high I hardly saw anyone smoking

probably like most people, I started smoking young to be "cool", cigarettes then hash, and I love smoking hash for years, one time I had no money for a while so went a week without any anything including food and I realised I didnt need cigarettes at that point, but I didnt want to stop yet, so I smoked for another year or so until I wanted to stop, and then I stopped first try, it was just a rough month or so and that was it now the taste of cigarettes makes me sick, I cant even smoke a joint with tobacco any more because the taste of tobacco is overwhelming, and I used to chain smoke, its crazy how your sense of smell and taste comes back after you quit, its a bad habit, its not cool any more if it ever was, you dont need it and its best never to start, but if you do start, have it in the back of your mind that its only for a few years and not forever

My father had a heart attack at age 39 and my uncle had a few toes amputated and both were heavy smokers. They were both advised to never smoke again. It will get you clicks but it will not add days to your life and medical bills (in the US at least) are the worst. Do as you please of course, and from my understanding you aren’t a heavy smoker.
