I don't see how people see your comments as punching down or "racist". The day before I saw your original video, PBS did a documentary of MLK and Coretta Scott King, and they mentioned that MLK went to college at age 15 yrs old. I didn't know that before. There were other things mentioned that I didn't know. What you mentioned about Rosa Parks, I didn't know. So yes, whether or not the librarian was speaking out of ignorance or intentionally undermining the rest of the great history of MLK and Rosa Parks, it doesn't matter. She was representing herself as an expert. If she truly cared about black history, if she truly cared about professionalism and being an expert, she would first do the research, then apologize for her error, and then make efforts to correct her error by working with knowledgeable educators. Her actions are speaking loudly.
