You can get some insulation sheets. You can cut them to the the size of the walls. I did that for a monitor enclosure I had. It really helped with keeping a constant temp.

Gosh as an animal momma myself I can feel the heartache of seeing your boy sick and getting a shot, it's clear that you do an incredible job taking care of him. I'd put 2" thermax blue board insulation in the floor framing underneath his house and interior walls ,,, its 2" styrofoam,,, and have his right side door that he always opens first ,overlap other door so wind can't blow in , a tiny ramp so walks in and out easier , and to have heat lamps securely attached so cant come loose, if a couple lamps ,not close to each other so wont overheat wires ,fire safe, think I remember once there was a wire issue that happened,, maybe a smoke alarm , and camera ,, Tiptoe's is worth everything, love Tiptoe, mom, grandma 🏡🏠🏟💦🐢💕

I don’t blame Tiptoe wanting more summer weather. Although I don’t like the heat waves over 100*F, I enjoy sunshine and long days. Well Tiptoe, you are going to be snug as a bug in the winter with those extra heat lamps. Being nice and cosy really makes a happy tortoise. You could maybe try some reflective insulation layers on the inside (like the kind food delivery bags have or car windshield covers) I use that to line the sides of my African snail tank.

My shell baby has a chronic respiratory issue from a pneumonia bout 3 years ago. It turns out he is now slightly anemic... who knew! Extra uvb and heat has been a game changer. I also use heating blankets on the sides and a smaller pig heat pad. Love ❤️ you all!

We have them inside for now. They are still quite small. We have a whole room for animals and we keep it heated during the winter. But when they will be this big they will get a big house 😂

Why don't you see if you could take down the back wall and put some styrofoam between that and the outer wall and put the back wall back up too many heat lamps could cause a fire hazard we wouldn't want something to happen to T. Before you build his new home consider insulating it maybe with spray foam and it shouldn't cost that much couple cans or a sheet of insulation foam might take care of the whole house which is like 20 some bucks where I live but you live in Cali so that's a little different just thinking about TIPTOE.❤ well-being
