Recently adopted an orange winged Amazon fully trained and talks Spanish like myself I’m Cuban/American and they told me he is from Puerto Rico. Close enough with both having beautiful beaches! The previous owners told us he likes Tito Puente and of course now he also listens to Celine Cruz, etc, etc. 💃 😂 He’s 59 years old and quite feisty! He thinks I’m his mama chicken and won’t let me go, shouts and walks over where I am. Very lovable! Sings all tunes when he hears the shower run….Rock a by baby out of breath by too! Lol! Whistles the Mexican TapTio I taught him and he learned quickly. Working on Guantanamera he goes ru, ru listening to it. They need constant companion and cleaning cage and poop but I love animals and I don’t mind. He attached to me but wants to bite my hubby and everyone else! Hmmm working on that. They certainly have their feathered personality spunky green lovely thing! 😍🦜

I raised cockatiels for years…..all hand fed, but sometimes they’re born with a gimpy foot or even leg. It’s crazy, but your heart really goes out to them…..he is so cute !!

@ChristinaMurley I do realize that, but at that time I was about 10 years old and it just struck me as kind of strange until I thought about it. I later learned that birds were descended from dinosaurs and that they will eat most anything. At the initial moment that it happened struck me as being kind of off. Kids learn as they grow older.

I LOVED seeing these videos! Thank you to the people making the birdies' lives better! We had a cockatiel and he had a personality a lot like Buddy. He taught me a lot about birds- I never knew how expressive and loving they could be! He cuddled with me, he'd fall asleep in my hands, we think he even tried to help me during a Syncope episode (i passed out and woke up to him flapping around and squawking on my chest) 😅 I miss my Mr. Lulu everyday- such a sweet bird. He was very brave and even gave my pittie kisses all the time- she gave him delicate kisses right back. ❤

@@BillyNoMates1974 Buddy sounds like a great tiel. I have had different yield forever all rescues. I had Sydney a supposed male white tiel with bright orange cheeks for about 14 months. In September she started laying eggs. First one. I let her keep it for about a week. No more for a week, then another. At this point , she has laid about 19?in total. I have added vitamins, egg powder, supplements, better diet. Longer quiet time covered, no nesting material or anything she could use. No change. She looks ok, eating well, vocalizing, etc. I have tried all hints. She still is laying. What to do?

I can’t get over how cute these two are!!!! I wish I had the means to have a couple of these lil guys. But I know that I couldn’t give them everything they needed and wanted, and I am not the type of person to go out and get a pet that I can’t completely care for properly. But can you imagine how loud the world would be if every animal can actually talk?! When I was younger, we had a blue parakeet and my parents named him Lebo. 🤷‍♀️ I know I asked them why but I don’t remember and unfortunately, they passed away a few years ago. But I remember I was trying to teach him to talk, and mind you I am a teenager and this was in the 80s so there was no Google or anything. Instead of just saying it like you normally would, I was dragging it out. It was usually his name. My mother heard me one day and she asked me why I was doing it like that. I told her that way he could understand what I was saying. She told me if you teach it to him like that that’s how he’s going to say it.😂🤦‍♀️

@ oh I remember how loud our parakeet was. And that was just one! I used to drive a limousine and the owner just did it out of his house and he had a couple of parrots. Sure were some beautiful animals. But I do know that those are a lifetime commitment!

So lovely to witness ...I think is like to adopt a bird or two that need loving up. When my lads were young we had budgies ...they were lovely in the house with their chirping away. I had to treat one once for the deforming rash that can cross the beak and claws. I used Homeopathic treatment as I was training in the subject. I did not have a second cage so they all got a dose of the treatment in drinking water ...the poorly one completely recovered and all three starting singing like opera singers! It was wonderful to see the detox ing and rejuvenating affects of Sulphur treatment I will never forget that lesson 🦜🦜🦜
