Invest in a separate chain and sprocket sets for supermoto. A long track like this could make good use of a 15 tooth up front and a 45 in the rear. Go down to a 14t front for a moderately tight track, and stock gearing for a really tight track. That'll give you 3 distinct gear ratios to work with to stretch this thing out and keep you from feeling like you're going to blow it up. Stock gives you a .255, 14t/45 gives you .311, and a 15t/45 will give you .333. If you want to bridge the gap between stock and 14/45 go ahead and get a 13 as well for a .288. You'll be ready for any track with these.

There are roads in the Ohio River Valley in Ohio and West Virginia where I live, that bike is made for. You would have a blast here on that thing. @@KLRmurdercycle I've had several dual sports. I've never been faster on anything else in the tight and twisties. I ride a chieftain these days. Still ride it like I stole it. It's probably the most agile, confident and stable bagger I've ever ridden at high speeds but any 800 lb motorcycle with limited lean angle has it's limitations. It's very well balanced and feels more like a 600 lb bike but I'd still love to have an SMCR to take out and really rip on. I'd probably get hurt or in trouble though if I had one.

A valkyrie, shadow, boulevard, and I forget the name of the victory are the only cruisers I've tried. My inner shoulders and back of legs get buggy on them. I get that while driving long distance in a car too. But up right like a dualsport, I can go a long time. The FTR keeps calling me though😄 Need to test one.

@@KLRmurdercycle it's muscle memory. Once I got used to floorboards and heel shifters, with the right seat being key, I like being on a cruiser as much as anything else. A good moderate ape hanger makes for better posture but I haven't undertaken that very involved and expensive processes on the Indian just yet. It's like 800 bucks or more if they're pre-wired I did it on my boulevard several years back and it makes a difference but I've got more than 12000 miles on the Indian now and one good trip from West Virginia to Maine and back and it's every compromise I've ever wanted in a bike. I had a 2014 ultra classic before this but I prefer the Indian. Had a raider before that and absolutely loved that machine but wanted the tunes and hard bags for commuting and touring.

@@KLRmurdercycle the trouble aspect on the smcr. The guy ahead of you could’ve passed many times and I bet he wouldn’t have tried to overtake you. Mans goin wide in some of those turns sketched me out!

Yea, that was me. First track day ever. Sketched me out too! But I got some good coaching and fixed a ton of mistakes!

@@AdventureDaily you’re in Ohio right? I live near Georgetown Ohio in southern brown county. I frequent rush a lot. I could give you one heck of a tour. Place is amazing. Has trials for all skill levels.

I’ll likely be going this Sunday actually. I try to go somewhere every other week. Typically it’s to rush though because it’s such a big vast area to ride. It’s never boring.

I get why you were going at the pace you were going but why was everyone else so slow? Even for C group that was let's say unimpressive. I didn't see anyone pass you. Where there some restrictions in place on overtaking?

Dang !! This brought back memories of when I raced my crf450 in Hawaii against all the sport bikes back in 06-08 I ran 3 different bikes over the 3 yrs . They placed me in 600ss class . Each year I’d win the overall . Yes I didn’t have top speed but I had the breaking advantage and the ability to outrun everyone thru corners . We had 2 course setups & on short course I’d lap they entire field some twice . I’d even drag race my bike and best posted time was an 11.02 in the 1/4 mile even upset many cars especially this dude in a z06 who was talking trash to my buddies who had Subarus . He got so butt hurt when a dirtbike beat his holy grail corvette he never came back around after that run . Once you get ur hearing sorted you’ll be way faster I’m pretty sure I was over 110mph plus I had ran Baja designs gears for 5th/6th they allowed 10-15% better top end speed .

You definitely needed a different sprocket set for this by track. If your in top the whole time and still able to take the corners your way to down geared. Should have been trying different sprocket sets on different runs.
