A white person in the US saying "Turns out my ancestors were colonizers" has the same energy as "Every 60 seconds in Africa a minute passes", also I am aware of people confusing Sweden and Switzerland which is already something I don't really understand but the Swiss-Scottish Mishap was very novel to me.

That was a pretty cringe thing to say. I hate to see white people demeaning themselves in this way. Humans all over the world have been fighting wars against each other for land and resources since the beginning of humanity. Tribes conquering neighboring tribes is just standard human stuff. Descending from one of the most successful groups that managed to create trans continental empires is actually something to be proud of. To twist it in a negative way and treat your ancestors accomplishments as something to be ashamed of, is an unbelievably sad form of self-hatred. Do you think the turks are ashamed of the Ottoman Empire? Do you think the Mongols insult their own ancestors by apologizing to all of Asia for the Mongol Empire? Heck no! They're all proud of it, as they should be! It's only white people who do this shit.

idk why this came up on my recommended but I look exactly like you it's kinda scary! So I was very interested to know your results since I do know a lot about my ancestry. And yup, we're pretty similar! I do come mostly from that same region of England, I also have a small bit of Scottish and Irish ancestry and actually a fair bit from Scandinavia, especially like Denmark and Norway. So that's pretty cool!

technically everyone, every country, every ethnic group of people at one time were colonizers the only difference is certain countries became better at it than others. people have sought to conquer lands and each other since the beginning of time no one is innocent.

I have a theory that you can tell if people are NPCs by how they use the word “whenever”
