I Took Custodes to a RTT - Warhammer 40K 10th Edition

I played my first 1k game the other day doing the leviathan campaign. I used 5 allerus with a allerus shield captain, 5 witch seekers, 5 prosecutors, and two dreadnoughts, it was pretty fun.

Played with similar list brought one tank and felt the same threat power loved having that firing lane. Two units of venatari were solid for reinforcing front and flanking. And traejan with his unit of wardens popped fight first and plus one to wound and dropped an avatar of khaine before it even got to swing on the charge. Allarus held middle and soaked wraith cannon fire well long story short tables a wraith list turn 4 and lost 5 models only.

Like this style of breakdown! Don't have time to watch three 2.5+ hr games to get a feel for playing into other armies. I would like to see some WTC terrain layouts. I play GW leviathan recommended layouts and feel the cover is a bit lacking to move up the board on 2 of three objectives every game. I would like to see how you move up defensively.

I personally can't convince myself to forgo tanks in my list. Simply because sometimes there is this one unit waaaaaaaaaay over there and it not being there can make our lives so much simpler. Also, my tank is blessed by the emperor himself. The ammount of times it pulled a miracle out of its ass is ungodly. Amongst some of the things that happened: One turn butchering kairos fateweaver, and then dealing 10 wounds to belakor in overwatch in the same game. (In 9th) Surviving the charge of 10 sanguinary guard in assoult doctrine only taking like 4 wounds. Absolutely punching a hole in a baneblade and dealing almost 20 damage to it. I just start the list with one and have to innerly bargain to not take 2. I would often take 3 but I don't own 3. I know it is a crutch. But it's a damn good one

It does sound like you are playing with quite light terrain if you can see from one end of the map to the other. That being said the Caladius is a good choice, i just personally don't think that is where the "best possible" Custodes list is right now, but we might be taking a really good player getting a 3% higher winrate without the tanks so for those of us who are more average the Caladius is great.

The lists i have been playing are not suited for fixed. You do not have enough units for it.

Absolutely. Full Custodes 40k index for FW can be found pretty easily online as a separate file from the normal one. No longer on the Forge World site... since that does not exist anymore. But I think there is still a link on the warhammer community site.

Calladius. I hate their price, the resin, the fact l can't replace them with dreadnoughts, the fact custodes have to run them. Maybe GW will make them in plastic one day. Or the junp pack dudes.

Got a question for you. In your opinion what is a better investment? the land raider or the coronus Grav carrier. Because one is smaller than the other but the other has more movement. I remember your comments on the frustration of the land raider and its movement but I need a effective way to transport my custodes over areas with little terrain.

At a competitive level, neither are great. I would however take the Land Raider over the Coronus
