Hey Hey yes Nyla is right! I’m allergic to the whole apples but I can eat apple sauce, drink apple juice and eat apple pie. The fruit has to go through a heating process to break down the allergen that I’m allergic to in the actual fruit. The body is so interesting!

Peanuts are a legume, tree nuts are not. So someone can have an allergy to peanuts and not tree nuts. I’m allergic to tree nuts, cashews specifically which I have an epi pen for. There’s also levels of severity for allergens. It sounds like Nyla has a minor allergy to tree nuts which would explain why Nutella doesn’t bother her as much as a hazelnut because the amount of nut per bite is less. That was long but it in a nutshell lol

Now for the nut allergy: You don’t know if the peanuts are processed (or have touched) with other nuts from a factory. Even if you eat in smaller quantities, it can lead to something severe and deadly. So stay away from it unless you have prescriptions like Auvi-Q or an EpiPen on you; it’s better safe than sorry.
