I have to say I love how re-assuring and encouraging Mitch is with you Martha. He seems to really get how your mind works and is so patient and understanding with you. Seeing Martha go through the whole spectrum of emotions and end with pure bliss had me laughing so hard that I cried watching! This was so relatable! Coincidentally my journey this past 6-8 months have been similar. I am the same height and have the same bike. My husband has been teaching me as well and his encouragement and patience has been absolutely amazing.

Hi Guys, enjoyed this video. I went through this around 10 years ago. I had a Honda CRF250X. That bike was only 117kg in weight and I put it onto a Coopers bike rack on the back of the Landcruiser (under the 130kg legal requirement for the bike rack). Some observations and to pass on from what I was taught. There are riding schools in Wales, but some of the trails are very technical and your bikes are too heavy for those types of trails and the bits that come with them, such as riding up steep hills inside rocky ditches, slipping all over the place. The light bikes have a heavy maintenance schedule and you have to change the separate engine and gearbox oil after every day out, due to the crash box. Nothing wrong with sitting forward, gripping the tank with the knees for stability, to stop the front end drifting. On standing, legs locked straight, pivot forward, find centre of balance, then you won’t get saddle sore. Always take plenty of water. On the riding days out, you join say 10 others, the morning is hard, down for lunch and refuel, then the afternoon is easier and restful like the trails you did. Don’t ride the clutch. PS 37:49 I did a car camp in that layby only 3 weeks ago. There’s a Club for what you are doing at Denton, where they have days out. I would just stick to the types of trails you are doing as Martha won't be able to handle the hard stuff. It's really tiring and totally different from road riding. Bit worried about Martha, as not wanting her to get over confident say 3 months in, which is what can happen when you first pass your test. Look after her Mitch.

Get yourself to the ABR festival in June at Ragley Hall, as well as being able to ride an off road course around the estate, they have training as well with various companies, a few beers in the evening with bands playing, you will definitely enjoy it.

Use the handlebar way of lifting it.. . Pull the handle that's on the ground forward till it locks then lift the bike with it...while facing the bike. Use both hands on the grip or bark buster
@radleytube9 ай бұрын
The hard thing for learners on bikes like these, is the fact it's hard to put your feet down on the ground to get your balance, especially if your shorter. It makes learning harder. The slower you are going it's hard to keep your balance. Well done though👍

So fun to watch Martha learn! Brings back memories to the time I started riding almost 20 years ago. As a short rider myself with my 250M Im not enable to lift it up with m legs but I can by lifting it up with the handlebar. A tip when bike falls on its right side is before you lit the bike up put down the kickstand so when you lift it up there is a smaller risk of the bike tipping over to much to the left side. Martha could start practicing lifting up the 250l before lifting the 250 Rally so she can get used to since its a bit lighter and not as "fat". Keep on riding! :)

Pretty much best thing to do with your bike is to fall down with it (hopefully in low speeds and hopefully quite many times). That helps a lot so that you will not be afraid of falling...
@arkmox9 ай бұрын
Great job you 2....couple things that may be helpful, Marth make sure to not get to high of a grip on the throttle, with the bouncing and in a panic situation you can get body weight thrown back causing a throttle pin or too much throttle per bounce. In the beginning a lower initial grip position will require a purposeful throttle roll to accelerate. Also work on picking bike up in case your partner gets a lil roughed up in incident.

It looks like you have a quadlock mount on the bike, I cannot tell at the moment (9.34) if you have the damping on it though. If not, I would recommend that you do because you can damage the camera on your phone if you don’t have one (I am talking from experience)

Black Desert Training / Craig Bounds. I had a 1-1 day with him, brilliant. Lovely guy and wife too. Boosted my confidence 200%. It wasn’t mega expensive either. We covered ruts, riding on sideways on loose and fixed rock slopes/ hills/ mountains, etc, all the tricky things, and we went quite fast too and the end of the day I think learning 1/1 is much quicker than doing a group school, as your weakness’s are identified immediately, and rectified straight away.

Hi M&M have you considered having a motorcycle rack on your camper as apposed to a trailer. A trailer is so difficult to manoeuvre especially when go off the beaten track. Also park ups you may have to disconnect it or pay double in some cases. A rack ok it maybe a bit of a chore to load & unload but it will be less problematic than a trailer. Also trailers get more interest from customs officials. Something to think about. I’m loving your videos, I look forward to every episode.👍

It's clear from Martha sweating that she was crapping herself far too often from riding beyond her limits. Every cry of surprise, is a mishap narrowly avoided. Martha needs to get ahead of the bike by having more comfortable practice. Speeding Mitch, and losing sight of her are not good ideas when you are responsible for a novice rider. I'm saying this because I want this to be a very long video series of your adventures together.
