Loved it. Thank you for this video. As someone who is herself going through a very stressful period right now, this video feels like a shared moment of connection. Let's keep on grinding through and we'll get there in the end. Love and best wishes. 💞

I resonate with you on being overwhelmed by saying yes to too many things. It must have been stressful and frustrating to have the conversation about not graduating on time with yout advisor. I am proud of you for standing strong and pushing yourself to finish, and having the belief that it will all work out in the end. Two lessons I have learned from academia when things are tough: 1. Start saying "no" to things that are not a priority to your project. you handled it well on simplifying this vlog from 1-week to 1-day. Most people may not even realize there is an option to say "no" and refocus the energy. 2. Realize that the 80 20 rule applies at the holistic level, i.e. 20% of all the efforts you put in will produce 80% of productivity. Sometimes, 2 productive hours of a day could be 80% of your thesis work that day! With that realization, you can afford to have a few bad days. The key is to keep showing up every day and have a positive mindset that things can become productive again!

Another inspirational, authentic vlog. 🥰 You should be immensely proud of who you are and everything you have achieved. Everyone goes through periods of stress and de-motivation. It’s completely natural, however productive and focused you are. Don’t be too hard on yourself... 🥰 Breaks / rest days are very important to help keep your body and mind healthy. Looking forward to starting the journey East in the coming weeks! Take care and be kind to yourself... 😘

how does being a professional equestrian work? like is it just that someone needs to exercise the horses so they hire people to do it?
@KaelynGraceApple

People pay me to ride the horses and train the riders. I also perform other barn tasks such as caring for the horses upkeep, preparing for shows, painting jumps, etc. I used to also compete full time but I don’t do that now since I only work part time 😊

Funny enough, looks like you're romanticizing contemporary slavery, isn't it? Hope you find yourself a little bit less stressed :)

Astrid Portilla Revelo I can definitely see how it can be perceived that way. I was mostly trying to discuss how narrative style plays into the research and trying to find ways to incorporate lesser used records is exciting in some way. It’s in no way new and I wouldn’t be able to do this work without scholars such as Annette Gordon-reed paving the way. A discovery of sources is something that has a bit of romanticism to it
