The Sunderland bomber would have been the better choice if you have to fly a boat , I actually used to use it as a fighter and had success. Better yet the Japanese H8K 20mm fast and maneuverable.

Back when BV was new and three to four was common in a match, I became a bit of a BV killing specialist. I would come out in the American SB2C-5 with pods and attack them head on. It was pretty easy because I could see them within seconds of spawning in. I would get right in front and shoot directly into the cockpit. One per match was normal. Sometimes two. I think my record is three.

you aim the guns like in a fighter... you aim into the fly path, and adjust for bullet drop in range. the bullet drop often is a bit higher in a bomber, you mostly fly away or parallel to your target, insted of towards it. then aiming in bomber should be easy. i played some attacker in ground rb, that have rear guns, so i have a little bit of practice.

Try out the JU188 or 288, the 188 gets 2 forward turret 20s (one 360° turret) and a twin MG81 and MG131 and us pretty fast. The 288 speaks for itself
