In this episode, I start my journey by taking the orange flag express boat at the Wat Rat Singkhon Pier, not far from Saphan Taksin Station and next to Asiatique. This is the cheapest way to travel along the Chao Phraya River and explore Bangkok!
As I cast off, I glide under the towering steel arches of Saphan Taksin Bridge. From here, it's nonstop views with the sleek ICONSIAM shopping center coming into sight. Shoppers and foodies flock here!
I drift onwards, passing modern buildings and old wooden houses, glimpses of both new and old Bangkok mingled along the riverbanks. Next stop, N5, Ratchawong: this is your entrance to Chinatown! Around the bend, the towering spires of Wat Arun emerge into view. I admire the temple's mosaic facade glinting in the sunlight as I cruise by.
Further along is the Tha Tian pier for Wat Pho, home to the giant reclining Buddha statue.
After the temples, I'll get a view of the stately Royal Palace (Tha Chang Pier)with its golden chedis shining across the water. As the boat continues upriver, passengers can hop off at Phra Artith (N13) to explore sights like Khaosan Road.
I passed under the scenic Rama VIII bridge before conclude my journey in Nonthaburi (Stop N30), taking in riverside scenes of modern marvels and ancient icons. The Chao Phraya river cruise unveils the Thailand of yesterday and today in one unforgettable boat trip.
This orange express boat lets people easily explore Bangkok's top attractions. And there are dinner cruise options too for enjoying sunset views.
