Being born in Europe is such a privilege, when he said “go on skyscanner and just go anywhere that’s cheap” I opened and the cheapest flight out of Brasil is ONE FULL MONTH OF PAY AT A MINIMUM WAGE JOB. It literally feels like a prison that only the rich can leave

Agreed. I’m from the US, and while there is decent access for semi-budget flights abroad, everything is so far away and there isn’t a culture of taking a lot of time off to travel - it’s looked down upon as not being serious about your work. My dad lives in the UK and has been able to do so much great international travel.

@@fredfred2363 I don’t drive so I could be wrong but with the way gas prices are right know I don’t think it’s that cheap, my friend has quite a basic car and to fill her tank it usually is about 300 reais, that’s a third of a minimum wage, that’s a full week of work to fill it 1 time, imagine doing that for a full trip

I feel you, my friend. As a person who loves travelling, feels almost impossible to go anywhere, even inside Brasil itself. Everything is so expensive. I think you could make this a regular series, or maybe have someone else plan out an itinerary for you in a country to experience the country more e.g. "Ben's Rough Guide To....". p.s you could probably do a partnership with somewhere like Rosetta Stone to learn the local language a bit before you go to a country.

It’s funny, I flew out to Morocco for 2 days of sun in December because return flights were £30, but checking Skyscanner again now I theorised the cheapest route and the first two consecutive locations from London were Poland then Italy (Bologna, next was albania and pretty much anywhere from there in April is £12-£20, I’ll definitely be trying this when I can get some more part time work in!

You are so lucky. In Australia one can’t even go 30 mins away for less than several hundred dollars (and we will still be in Australia). Just a tip- you are in Europe, you are in the same hemisphere, pack for the coldest and the warmest temp.

Fasolada is a Greek/Cypriot dish that's mainly home-cooked. You cannot really find it that easily in restaurants, as you can probably tell by now. Lots of foods in these countries are like that. Our equivalent to your fish and chips is probably our souvlaki, but that doesn't really make souvlaki a national dish. Kind of hard to explain but I hope you get the discrepancy.

As being a Greek, it’s funny to see you trying to find fasolada in Greek-Cypriot restaurant 😆 Greek cuisine is one of the richest cuisines, so it doesn’t have a national dish, that’s why you could find this specific one. Next time you have try a looot of dishes! ☺️

There is also a lot of extra costs efter this. But yes, if you stay in hostels and so on, you can travel cheap. But this is coming to an end now with a new EU-tax for airliners.

What about taking this idea to the next level. Traveling by the cheapest flights everyday or every couple of days. But you can only fly back home country (no need to be your home city), when the flight to home is cheapest or if you get sick or if it takes too much time. How long would it take? How long would you be able to spend time away from your home country?

Just found the channel and its a great video. Paphos was quiet because it was off season. I was there in Aug-Sep and it's very lively with tourists at that time. Down by the Harbour is very touristy, so traditional dishes (other than Souvlaki), are not really common in that area from experience. Could have got your pizza fix at a great restaurant out by the mall though, worth a visit if you're back in town!

Neat idea, I've tried something similiar but with a bit more organization and planning - looked for cheap flights from Wrocław, then from the next place, and so on, but i've stayed a couple days in each of them. Ended going to Rome, Barcelona and Venice in 10~ days before coming back. Would highly recommend, it's fairly cheap way to travel if you can pack everything you need into a carry-on backpack. If you have the guts to stay in hostels it's gonna be pracically a steal.
