ive never seen a review that tells a simple story about sitting in the sun and enjoying how the watch looks. honestly want to get it just because of that.

I personally love my oceanstar. It's (in my opinion) one of the best value , non microbrand , divers in the sub 1000 euro market atm.

Would be PERFECT with a Seiko or Citizen bright long lasting lume. and I prefer flatglass..Im still searching for best best small dressy diver watch at 500-1k its really hard. Cant go to Seiko cause their bracelets quality are really weird

Its a great watch. Love mine on the bracelet. Minor downside for me is the prominent crown guards... just makes winding/resetting a little tricky. LOVE the dial colour too.. on sunny days it cannot be beaten.

Love your perspective and commentary. It shows that you have an understanding of design, rather than just reciting talking points from the manufacturers marketing materials. I am trying to decide between this and the Oris Divers 65

You wore that watch like a star. It is beautiful to see in the video. I am not buying watches every day of the week but I really love your channel.

I could listen to this guy do watch reviews everyday! I loved seeing the 'Barthelona' sand :) The sand crystals there are almost like pebbles versus sand. Oh, and great review.

Very nice watch. Attractive colour and dial design. Mido are often a forgotten brand. I do agree that too many polished surfaces don't suit dive watches unless you are desk diving only. The Mediterranean is a wonderful place for diving. Living in Istanbul, it's just an hour flight for us to Antalya and depending on the season, swimming with the Loggerhead sea turtles is a great experience, though it's very important not to interact or disturb them as they are there to lay their eggs on the protected beaches there! Excellent review.
@BraveBeaters2 жыл бұрын
Hi Brian, indeed, I never tried the Mediterranean side of Turkey, perhaps next year :) the experience of swimming next to turtles or see the tiny ones how they hatch and crawl to reach the water is unbeatable, indeed :)

Wow great video! So useful shots in the different environments and lighting. And that combined with the editing and mysterious deep sea vibe music made the video 10/10 :D Btw I will probably buy this watch! You convinced.

Great review. I bought this exact piece on the strength of your first video. It's been my daily ever since, I just love that blue. The bracelet is also the most comfortable bracelet I've ever worn. The lume does suck but I don't really ever have a requirement for it anyway. The other interesting thing, the new gradient models have better lume (still not great mind) and a 120cl bezel where mine has a 60cl. Lastly, I know its polarising but I love the day date complication. 😁

Mido doesn't get a lot of recognition in the US. Seems like a solid line overall.

It is, their divers line is very good! (at least this is what I've experienced from their collection)

Hi man, first of all big compliments for your channel. I'm in love with divers, I've owned several, resold to buy others. Today I own the king, submariner 40mm steel and ceramic and Hamilton navy scuba 43mm, ceramic and blue dial. I'm very interested in Certina and Mido: I think I will soon have at least one of them. Thanks for your videos, which give me inspiration and many greetings from Italy!

EXCELLENT video! This is a stunning watch. You may have convinced me to pull the trigger. It’s one of those that you just can’t stop looking at and thinking about once you’ve seen it. Question… Does the dial appear black in lower lighting or does it still maintain a blue tint?
@BraveBeaters2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Tony, the dial is matted, so the tint gets towards darke blue in normal conditions, I specifically exposed the dial to the higher lighting conditions to unveil the pigment :)

I’ve owned 3 mido divers, the gmt (which I sold), the 600m chronometer pvd and this one ( since December of last year). I think the bezel and dial look really nice on a nice sunny day, the bracelet is very comfortable and the micro adjustment works perfectly.it’s fairly accurate and the dial design works really well to me, However I do have my complains: -Bezel action is horrible and doesn’t align properly ( let’s say a 95% of alignment ) - Lume is just pathetic ( even my 4 year old Vostok gives a run for its money ). And not even going to a different price category, the lume on my Tissot gentleman is even brighter ( which really shows how bad it actually is ) - The thickness: Owning the BB58 at 200m, no exhibition caseback ( yes, no date ) and at 11.9 mm I do think that this should had been a 12 mm watch. To me this watch could be the perfect diver I’d Mido did this: - Give it apply indexes - At least decent lume ( like the one from the GMT ) - Make it thinner ( at least 12 mm) - Have a bracelet that tapers ( to me is just more comfortable and looks nicer )
@richardh4090 Жыл бұрын
The blue dial looks great but together with the shining strap almost tacky. I think I would prefere the more decent black one that looks more like the original from 1961.
@hakki3682 жыл бұрын
Of course it will. My Seiko 5 SRPB93 with WR100 performed well too. And it's only $200. Cmon guys, quit the fear. 85% of people's fears DONT happen. And the 15% that do, weren't as bad or worse as imagined.

How does it compare to the Certina DS Diver 38mm?
@BraveBeaters2 жыл бұрын
Pretty similar, the Ds action in 38 is more compact and surely matted compared to this one. :D I guess the all polish appearance is not for everyone.
@bulldogms2 жыл бұрын
@@BraveBeaters I really like the Certina. A lot of value packed in a smaller package. The specs are pretty incredible. On sale for $600 for the 2-tone. The Mido looks nice too.

I love this MIDO model. However, that small back play in the bezel is what makes me uncomfortable. For the price level, they could have improved. As for the rest, it's a watch that's on my wish list. First of all, I'm "dating" the Doxa Sub 200 SharkHunter. Thank you so much for this excellent review (another excellent one).
