I love how he's so blunt, but in a joking way that isn't intended to discourage you. To me, that's always been a sign of an excellent coach, & this video proves that point. Keep up the great videos, Jerome!

Jerome one of the most important things he said was that you guys are in a room with no external factors on the situation. Alluding even to the fact that the Matt you were putting on had lines all these visual aids help the subconscious out immensely when doing task like these. When on a golf course(in the wild) things are very different. Visualization is a huge key when you are on a green trying to sink one. Tiger talks about it in his pre shot routine. Taking three pictures of the hole and putting to the picture in his mind when making the strike while looking down at the ball. That’s called visualization.

Great video... I can tell you one thing I would recommend... stop with the "ahhh man... ahh that was bad, ahhh blah blah" it seemed like almost every putt you were downing yourself... you're there to improve, trust yourself, process the result, and move on to the next putt. Super cool information, jealous a bit. Cheers!

You should consider a putter fitting. Some fitters use Quantic, and you might find a face balanced putter works better for you.

So what is the goal for each aspect? Should the club head be slightly angled up and moving up when it strikes the ball or should it be perpendicular to the ground and moving straight laterally? Thanks!

I understand him not wanting to give you too many things to focus on at one time, but I think you might have benefitted more if he had broken down variables related to the degrees of freedom and focused more on rebuilding your address position and concept of how the putting stroke works. What he taught you was good to try to level your angle of attack out, but not addressing other areas that were high in the red repeatedly (face angle) didn't do you any favors. If you go out to practice or play, and you make good angles of attack, but your face angle is off every time and you never make another putt are you going to stick with it? I think you'd benefit from picking up and reading Frank Thomas' Fundamentals of putting book. It explains all the degrees of freedom (including rotational and path factors that could lead to face angle being off). If you start with a set of fundamentals that eliminate variables then you'll have a better place to work from.

How come you don’t show, teach a flat swing with just staying same fraction of height of club through the whole stroke. Move back, then forward to stroke the ball in one plane.

@brads8067 This guy isn't worth anywhere close to 10 grand. Quintic is a pretty simple system he made seem like rocket science. It's a Trackman for putting. Face, path, center contact, launch, spin, smash factor, aoa etc. This guy has a shit putting stroke because he has 27 thoughts on how he's supposed to roll a ball 10 feet. He can come to me for a lesson and he will get way better. I also wouldn't talk down to him like this instructor. Thinks he's some sort of putting genius lol.

Sorry but a lesson like this for me is wasted time. There's only one way to get better in putting and that's practice. This young man will not improve his putting from this lesson, he'll get better because he will practice hard. I say learn the fundamentals and then go out and practice...that's it. Stop wasting money on this, use the money to play instead.

When I read a comment like this I think, does this person know why the creator is making this content, doing this thing. You can however spreak for yourself and you did. He did it for content with extra earned income. Or maybe inherentance who know that's beyond the point. I assume he's doing it for content, for fun, helpful insight with measured scientific data you won't get in the real world. As you said hard practice will come but I would assume taking a lesson like this will definitely help you get better faster. His time amd money was well spent.

Its ignorant thinking like that that will keep you playing in the 90s your whole life, while this kid becomes a scratch player in a couple of years. Learn all you can about everything WHILE you practice.
@johnblaker2454
@johnblaker2454 11 ай бұрын
@@glenngibson1444 Correct, I quit playing for a decade after being a scratch junior. 2 months in and I'm back down to a 6 HDCP. The game has changed IMMENSELY since I last played at a high level. If I hadn't done the research to know what's changed in technology (and the technique to make the most of those improvements) it would take me much longer to get my game back. I had no idea that Titleist had swapped the high spin / low spin differences in the ProV lineup. So now I play regular instead of X. I'm also much stronger than back then, so I need Tour Stiff (TX, 7.0 or X7 depending on company/model) shafts instead of playing Dynamic Gold S300. That change alone knocked 1500 RPMs off my 7-iron. The equipment and the technology matters, how you USE the technology matters. I had to completely re-learn bunker shot technique due to the new bounce/grind designs on wedges and how that interacts with the newer versions of the ball.

Yeah, why do the best players in the world who have put in thousands of hours of practice still seek the advice of the best teachers in the world? It’s because the teachers can see what they need to work on. Yes most people don’t improve after one lesson. They practice what they LEARN in the lesson. What a concept
