I think you should try this in reverse. You do a regular Nuzlocke, but if a Pokémon dies, you buy a plushie of it in real life. That’ll provide some comfort, help you remember your fallen teammates, and also probably put some strain on your wallet.

There's an old German TTRPG from the 80s called Plüsch & Plunder (plush & junk) where ypu play as living sapient plushies and if they get damaged ("loose cuddliness") you actually have to simulate that damage on a real plushy. I played it once, it seemed fun at first, but abusing those poor innocent plushies proved way too sad for what was supposed to be a lighthearted comedy game
