Takeaway: if you're going to jump a vehicle, you want its maximum suspension travel, not minimum. Watts to Freedom drops you 3.5", Extract mode raises you 6". I'd be curious to see the results with all 13" of suspension travel instead of 4".

Does it change the travel, or just the ride height? For example, you can change the ride height of a trophy truck 10" up or down just by changing the spring rate or preload, but it still has all 36" of travel available.

It would have survived. You can't bottom out a 4 ton vehicle and expect the suspension to save you. He brought thousands of pounds into contact with the ground. An extra 9 inches of clearance would have given the springs more time to slow the vehicle before it hits the ground.

Which means unless the suspension has electronic adjustable valving and locked off the rebound circuit all the way, then the suspension had time to droop out all the way and had 100% of the up-travel available. You can see the tracks where the tires left the ground. I don't think the 900 people realize this that are commenting he was in the wrong suspension mode. It's a moot point, he was in the wrong vehicle. It's just too heavy period.

@@mjodr Exactly. You're kinda responsible for understanding the vehicle you bought. Regardless of what suspension mode he was in this thing straight up was built as a luxury vehicle. It's likely that %99.9 of people buying this thing do not live on a dirt road and aren't taking it off roading. It still has the remnants of the design from it's original purpose but these things turned into straight luxury rides years and years ago. I'd be curious to see how the proper suspension mode would have handled that because it's likely even in the correct mode he'd have sustained some serious damage. The thing is a monster.

Even a modern Raptor I’d be highly skeptical of. With the angle of that ditch, you’re basically tilting the nose down to slam the front of the frame and the front tires into a wall at freeway speeds.

I like the H1 too but I am really curious how much better he would have ended up doing without it lowered in WTF mode. For sure the H1 wouldnt have been messed up in the rear though, but he may find its just a bent tie rod since it has rear wheel steering. That may prove to be a legitimate week point for impact. They used to be pretty weak on the mid 2000's quadrasteer sierria/silverado too. You guys had the only useful conversation out of all these knuckleheads in the comments.
