very nice preview of the new theater. I am in the process of designing my theater. And was trying to decide between having a riser or creating a sunken or steps down into the room from the back. It looks like you step down into the room which is what I am probably going to do, just don't wanna make the screen too far or too close as this is a more permanent decision.

I made a last minute change right before they poured cement to extend the lower area by an extra 12 inches. It made the first row more usable and left plenty of room for the back row.

K out Home Theater Gurus videos on setting speaker positions by angles. And I thought bipolares are not good for Atmos, but best is regular speakers aimed at the seating positions, and ceiling speakers that can be aimed at the seating positions and not downward firing as your perception of their sound will be determined by their off axis performance at the seating position. I’m using 3 pairs of modified/upgraded Linn Tukans on the walls and two pairs of modified/upgraded Linn AV 5110’s on the ceiling - ALL aimed at the seating positions - plus four subs and the anthem aim-90

Dipoles are not good for Atmos. Bipolars are ok. As for ceiling speakers, I did the best that I could do given the amount of wife acceptance factor I had to deal with. I did manage to get all in room speakers other than the ceiling speakers, so I feel that that was a win. I’ve also accepted that it doesn’t matter what I do it’s never going to be perfect. But trust me, my new Theater Room is the best sounding room I’ve ever ever been in. The tweeters in the speakers can be aimed slightly, and I did as much as I could to the listening position.
@stephenyoud6125 Жыл бұрын
@@Upscaled_HTthanks for the reply. good you can aim the ceiling tweeters then . In our new house here my wife said it’s my room and I have carte blanche (lucky me). So it won’t look pretty but who sees it with the lights out. Enjoy!!

Wow nice work in new space. I hope you consider the Emotiva XPA DR3 for the front speakers. Game changer.

Gorgeous room! Question though: why not go with in-wall speakers? You could get your LCR to be in plane with your surrounds if you put them in wall and behind your screen. Would give you space for a bigger screen too.
@Upscaled_HT Жыл бұрын
Because I already had the speakers and acoustically transparent screens has less gain than a traditional one. It would have been Kate expensive and I was already deep in the cost department. Trust me the screen is huge. It feels almost commercial cinema big. Good points though.

Nice..I have the new benq ht4550i 4 led 4k texas instrument DLP ..It is awesome on my 150" Dalite matte white screen..My walls and ceiling are black flat...I see a problem with screen feedback on your walls..you could put up cheap curtains and rod to put into position to really improve the image..waiting to see the completed h/t...very nice

Very nice room! My question is you have an 11 channel bed layer & 6 Atmos, but you then have a 10-ch Amp & a 7-ch one, so I’m curious as to what 1 speaker is left out of the 11 when you connect the 10-ch amp, if that makes sense. I’m guessing the Center ch maybe is connected to the 7-ch amp & the 6 Atmos go into the remaining 6-channels? Obviously it will all work fine, I was just curious what the connections will be. Can’t wait to see the finished product!!
@Upscaled_HT Жыл бұрын
No speaker was left behind. Between both amps, I have 11 high powered channels and an additional 6 lower powered channels for the Atmos speakers. The room is coming along just need my wallet to catch up before I work on treating the room with acoustic treatments.

Congrats new theatre looks amazing. QQ do you have the emotiva amps with rack mount ears or are they just sitting on shelves? When I got my emotiva amp I had to wait several months for the rack mount ears to come in before I could order them. That's how long they were out of stock. Nice Job! PM

Nice work, what were the height, width and length dimensions of your old room vs new room?
@Upscaled_HT Жыл бұрын
Old theater was like 17w x 14d x 9h feet. New theater 21w x 22d x 10h in the front and 9h in the back row.

@@Upscaled_HT Hi. Thank You for your reply. I have the BP7000SC as my two fronts, the C/L/R 3000 center, 4 BP VX/P as my surrounds, and 4 DI8R ceiling speakers. The BP7000SC has 14-inch subwoofers that are powered by an 1800-watt amp. I believe these to be the best speakers that Definitive Technology has ever had. What kind of processor are you using, and what is your speaker layout? I noticed you had 3 fronts, a pair of front wide's, 2 sides, and 2 rear. How many are in the ceiling? The 2 in the rear have me scratching my head. 11.4.4? Just wondering. Thank Again.

Do you plan use sub build in 9040? or Use only klipsch?
@Upscaled_HT Жыл бұрын
I am using them.

I think those bookshelves are a PERFECT match of speakers and as wides. I own the 7002's as my fronts for a long time, now they are my rear backs and the JTR 212RT's are my fronts. Lets say, I consider it a huge upgrade. However that may not work with you, as your screen isn't AT, and you have to want to hide them. I have a pair of 8080's for my sides and I am considering now if I want to trade them for 110st JTRs, but it may make it very directional and too powerful?

👍❤️😃 Awesome 😎 Did you pay more than $20,000? You have a Lot of money 💰 invested in your home theater. It is worth every penny! Your Home Theater Blows the Local Cinema out of the Water. I am Happy for You 🎉 I have 2 modest home Theaters. One in a Building I built in the Yard. It has a 100 inch screen. I have 10+ different projectors. An Epsom LCD Projector $3000.00+ and various others down to a Few hundred dollars. I like to see the entire gambit of Technologies in AV. Some LED Projectors might surprise you. In the living room I have a 120 inch screen. I have a 5.1 Audio System in the Living Room. To listen at a Theater level sound I use different wired and Bluetooth headphones. I could never use a High End Speaker setup because of my Neighbors. My Neighbors have nicely told me they could hear my sound system. They were Not complaining just mentioning they could hear it when they were outside. "Your Home Theater sounds good." They would complain if I blasted a real Home Theater Audio System.

It’s been more money than I’d like to admit. The room is actually pretty soundproof. I spent almost $10k on soundproofing alone. I wanted to be able to use it as much as possible without disturbing the family..
