The guide is actually right there is no worry whatsoever. Women should pray in a different space because people should be dedicated to worship not distracted. We pray 5 times because prayer is meant to keep us clean, and mindful of Allah for example when you pray after midday, it is hard to go and sin or do something wrong because there is another prayer around the corner, it just keeps you strong and righteous. Even though someone may commit a sin then there is a chance to repent the following prayer. Man is weak and sinful, however, he can always go back on track and avoid the worst. The prayer is a constant reminder that we are passing by and that we should strive to be good. God and all the angels are witnessing our deeds and we will be accountable for them. It may sound alien, or even absurd to many living in our modern world, hence God guides whom he will. Blessings

Nice video: 1. Dome : not a must in a mosque. Just a design popularised during the Ottoman's empire. As Islam is a religion for the whole mankind, mosque can be in any design (within limits). Many older mosques in Malaysia have no domes and you can also see some Pagoda roofing style in some mosques in other countires. 2. Minarets : I think the guide meant "compulsory" from an architectural point of view - to facilitate the call of prayer. Otherwise, it is also just a matter of design. 3. Colours. No official colour for the religion. I've seen a mosque with colourful dome mimicking St Basil's Cathedral in Moscow. That mosque is beautiful inside as well with a view of paddy fields. 4. Pictures and icons. Forbidden in Islam. In the olden days, even family portraits are not displayed on the wall of homes, just kept in the albums. But nowadays due to modernity, many ignored the practice unfortunately. Actually this is also one of the commandments in the Hebrew Bible "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images". I hope you enjoyed the harmony co-existence of various religions in Malaysia. There is a saying that Islam is like a clear water. It will appear red in red glass/cup or blue in blue glass/cup - the glass is the culture/society/civilisations/ age/decades etc. To those who doesn't know, they will say the water is red or blue but to those with knowledge, they will know that the water is clear but just the colour of the glasses.

Thank you for your insight! As I mentioned it’s not my opinions, I’m just going off of what the guide said in this video because I don’t want to alienate anyone. I appreciate all different opinions and views! :) I enjoyed learning about it but as in any religion there are many different forms, ideas, beliefs practices ect so this guide had his and i followed along but with a grain of salt as i was sure someone would disagree. Yes the dome was not a compulsory design for a mosque, you can see a lot of european masjid looks like a church from the outside.. minus the cross of course..

Obligatory prayer times: 1. Before sunrise.....never when sun rising 2. After midday...never when sun is at its zenith/highest 3. Before sunset....never when sun is setting 4. After sunset 5. Evening prayer These are from 5mins duration to maximum 15 mins duration

sebagai orang Indonesia, ini yang saya kagum dengan orang Malaysia. Bahkan pengurus mesjid setempat pun mereka bisa berbahasa Inggris dengan lancar, sesuatu yang sangat jarang (bukan tidak ada) di Indonesia. Mereka di jajah Inggris dan berbekas setidaknya mereka lancar berbahasa Inggris. Belanda menjajah kita, bukannya kita bisa berbahasa Belanda, malah meneeer Belanda akhirnya bisa berbahasa Indonesia. Ya, bukan masalah baik dan buruk sih sebenarnya, ini lebih pada situasi dan kondisi sosial yang berbeda aja sih.

This paricular mosque is influenced by Mughal architecture. There are many elements taken from it. Islam does not dictate any particular form for Mosques. Many mosque around the world are designed to reflect indigenous architecture. Go to China and you will find mosque that look like Chinese temple. The Niujie Mosque in Beijing is a good example. There are also ultra modern Mosque design such as the ones designed by Zaha Hadid in France, Kuwait and Kosovo. There's also Mosque made entirely out of mud with an architecture that could be considered "out of this world". The Djenne Mosque in Mali is such mosque. There's no particular rule to mosque design except that it has to face the direction of Makkah and theres seperate spaces for men and for women.
