Hi, I may be late in passing on some tips on some of the remarks you made while enjoying the hospitality of Ipoh. 1.) Carry a packet of napkins or wet wipes as they are not usually given out in coffee shop. 2.) If you find the "traditional white coffee" too sweet or too milky - you can ask for less sugar or less condense milk to suit your taste. 3.) I am sure both of your are animal lovers - do watch out as most of the dogs and cat are stray and may carry virus. Do wash you hand if you have stroke or pet the animal Stay safe and enjoy

Mike & Ashley For dim sum, it's best to have it in Chinese eateries which mainly sells dim sum which is more authentic and larger varieties to choose from. Cafe is not the best place to have dim sum. Dim sum is usually accompanied with hot Chinese tea in a porcelain teapot. You can request for free refill of hot water when the teapot is empty. We don't ordered cold drinks when having dim sum.

Yes, we’ve now been taught the proper way! 😅🫣 A number of restaurants were closed for the afternoon, so we chose this place after looking on Google. We LOVE dim sum now, and will be making a video on it in one of our upcoming destinations for sure! 😁 Is there a place in Ipoh you’d recommend?

OK, I'm very impressed that you've picked the "right" place - of a myriad of very awesome coffee shops in Ipoh - to sample that quintessential Ipoh white coffee. Fact is Sin Yin Loong is the birthplace of white coffee, at least the moniker if not the actual type of coffee itself. Bravo !

Mike do you miss the ability to collect unique + charming treasures or is it a freeing chapter…not feeling tied down by things?
@mikeandashley4 ай бұрын
Oh I still collect things, just on a completely different scale. 😂 And I think the freedom of not being tied down wins over the desire to next and surround myself with treasures. Perhaps one day, when we have found a place to call home, I’ll continue building my collection. Until then, I’m collecting memories. 😊 Great question! 🙏

At some restaurants maybe, but there was a lot of variety in restaurants. From street food to local cafes and then slightly fancier or more concept places. Georgetown is about the same, but there’s just a lot of western places mixed with the local food. 😊

@@mikeandashley there's the normal cave tour where you walk through large chambers and and at a certain point even a breeze blows, at the end you don't go down to the small stream that runs through the cave. The limestone hills around Ipoh are known to be up to 200 million years old. It's a pity they're not registered with UNESCO for conservation protection. In Cuba, they do that even though their tropical limestone hills are only a relatively young 40 million years old.
