I don't understand. Why would you make ads, spend the time and resources required, and not expect to do better than the first run? Even if it is just for a joke, it would of course move product. Skittles does not make those ads just so people know they are quirky, funny is a proven legitimate selling method. That said, there is no way he could have ever known how many more would sell, so projecting low makes real world sense, and I am sure this will be a driver for the size of the next run.
