That's very interesting. Some of my geckos comes only when I have bugs to lure them. I do have a girl that comes out to me when she feels like it. Is this an April fools joke?

You should try and make a trigger noise like a whistle to call them over and see if the speed of the response changes. Works really well with smart animals like monitors keeping in mind that lizards have a really hard time hearing low pitched noises so they struggle to hear alot of the sounds we make just by talking.

Still really cool to get that behaviour from an animal as... intellectually challenged as a gecko. Do you reward him when he does this?

I talk to mine everyday. I sit by his tank and talk to him and play music (sometimes). My crestie knows: food, honey, watermelon, fresh food, are you hungry, come down, where are you/there you are, "S'mores" bc that's his name lol. I'm training mine to come as well when I call as well. And he's learning bugs, hunting, "friend" and "safe".

This is interesting. Can we help them evolve smarter? This is exactly the video I searched for. My crested who’s a girl I started tapping on the rim on the tank to get her to come then I’ll show her the meal worm. I been trying to build trust between us. I think she came with some trauma from petco. It’s been working. My question was how much thought do they have because I think she connected that to the moment right before that to the food which I hoped she would. I’m gonna try to do other things throughout the years. But I am curious to how smart they are and can be

Mine is still a juvenile and I'd like to do more intentional training while they're still young, but I'm only used to mammals and not sure what training methods would be best to try for geckos?

That's pretty impressive buddy and my crested gecko I got a year ago at 1 month the day I got it after about 10 minutes it slowly walked out the tub on my hand and i managed to feed it and it was really cam I was surprised its been a wonderful experience but my girlfriend got a crested gecko it's so different ovisly I look after it so it's getting the same care and handling since I got my gecko but it took it basically a year to warm up to me it just all ways ran away if I was a threat but it eventually released that its safe

is it normal that my crested gecko is 16 grams at a year old I've did my research for a long time and I've learned a bunch of things out of experience of having a crested gecko it eats water melon pangea it only eats that one and I feed it 2 crickets twice a week because the warm weather makes its food digest faster and I use calseum powder on the crickets and I have a 30x30x60 viverum it's extremely active little guy and do you think that the cold weather kinda stopped its growth before because in the last 3 months its starting to grow faster since the warm weather and sorry for the long message I just don't understand because I'm doing nothing wrong I don't think

@tyicbranch2734
@tyicbranch2734 2 жыл бұрын
Do you think it's just a slow grower I've learned so much from your videos but some things you just have to experience on your own when having a crested gecko unexpected things like sadly the day I noticed I hade little black insects mites I think in my crested viverum not shore why or if it was mites I just made a back up viverum and fully cleaned my viverum out and cleaned ev
