makes sense that that ant did well in the dark they make their colonies deep underground where it is very dark, now some ants like leaf cutter ants live up in trees and have excellent eyesight forager ants live underground where their feelers come into play. Ants are very interesting and very intelligent creatures and it makes sense that they withstood the test of time, they where around before the dinosaurs after all and survived through the last ice age so it was cool to see how they made it through this.

Did you miss the part where several of them got out? This was fine for a short-term demo, but don't try to build their farm out of Lego. Besides, that's _way_ more expensive than just buying an ant farm.

In your Lego room, for the train, what I think you should do is add walls to the end of the train tracks and use rubber caterpillar tracks (if those exist for Lego) to grip on the bottom of the trains. Then use a slow motor to make the train slowly go clockwise from one end to the tracks to the other, but give to motor a switch, that way it can turn on or off. Add another motor to make the track go counterclockwise, so it can go to the other direction. It would work even better if you extended the track.

Hey Brick Science, how ya doin? So two years ago you made an insanely powerful lego motor "xL" and you said if you added more motors you could make a rideable lego car... So I have a challenge for you. Find a tricycle of some sort (a kids one maybe) and make an "XXL" motor to make a rideable tricycle powered by a lego motor.

Just saying, gel and farms are highly not recommended for any type of ants if you intend on keeping them for long term as they can be contaminated and it does not provide enough moisture for the ants, but he is only using it for a few days so it does not impact them as much

The video is great in concept, but really not great in execution. Minor issue, throughout the video you continually refer to ants as "he" despite that outside of ants specifically born for breeding, all ants are female. Males are only ever born in a well-established colony with excess resources and only long enough to participate in mating season. Without a queen or a nest, ants really arent going to operate with purpose, so they're not properly scouting or harvesting. They wont even correctly handle food and will starve to death, because usually they have to process food at the nest and there are specific ants that distribute that feed the colony from the processed stockpile. Ants without a nest are practically just walking around to die. The other huge issue is using gel. It's terrible for ants and it will kill them. Proper dirt filtrate may not give as clear an image during digging, but it is the considerably better choice if actualy trying to preserve a colony.
