Fun fact there is actually a species of ant that consumes blood. It's called the vampire ant which drink the blood of their larvae. As for what ants eat, they eat different things depending on the species. They usually eat whatever is available, like dead animals, fruits or other insects. Some species of ants farm fungi to eat.
