Turkmenistan is NOT as bad as North Korea. For one, there is a LOT of immigration out of the country, meaning citizens _are_ allowed to leave. Its difficult to go through the airport but you can bribe just about anybody. People i know have all left because of the lack of employment or to improve their life quality, no one i know has actually *escaped* the country, most just up and leave. They even return every few years to refresh their passport and visa. I even know people saving money so they can go back and build a house there. I doubt a North Korean citizen would ever go back. They are one of the Turic countries invaded and assimilated by Russia. Their surnames were changed and their graves were destroyed. Now they live under soviet dictatorship but not nearly as bad as North Korea. Also they have free gas but thats really irrelevant if you live under a severe dictatorship. They also do have internet and can access apps illegally, social media is very popular. Anyway its really sad that the citizens have to immigrate and the regime is horrible, also completely a result of ww1 and ww2. Just wanted to give some info.

You can drive a car that isn't white, but only in the villages. You can play videogames anytime. Dogs are only banned from the Capital City. (You obviously don't want a 100-Pound Central Asian Shephard roaming around a nice and soft city.) You have WiFi there, and Social Media is accessed only through VPN. When I went there 4 months ago, it was not empty LOL. Many cars everywhere. I'm not sure if it was only because it was Winter Season. I am personally Ethnic-Turkmen myself. Awesome tour video about my country 😇Normally it's not empty that much, usually people going out for Picknick out there near those beautiful as called 3 leg building or 8 leg building, and in the Berkarar where you had lunch, it's crowded in the evening. The first traditional hat which is puffy usually groom is wearing once during their wedding (we are celebrating wedding almost for 4 days not including engagement ceremony) the other small hat with embroidery is mostly common and part of uniform at school and at the university but for girls the design and colour is a bit different than boys'. And that shopping place we call as a Russian bazar and idk why but most tourists visiting and shopping there😁 About Kowata, it's a mysterious place for me, and a bit creepy 😅 the water was clean and warm before, idk why there were white things 🤔 About food, you should have tried "Kelle bash ayak" it's a head and legs of sheep, sounds crazy but the taste is amazing, especially tongue and eye balls without the black, "Dograma" from meaning chopping/dicing (bread), you can eat that as a dry way or with soup😋, "Tamdyr somsa" it's like a meat pie but baked in a special oven called Tamdyr... Etc. I enjoyed watching this video

Thanks for making a positive video of Turkmenistan. I am not from there, but all the vids on the internet just make fun about how strange the country is. They are what they are and we should respect it and enjoy it.

It’s like going to North Korea and thinking all the businesses and people you meet are real. Just think about it, what business is a roadside vendor getting next to a swimming spot that has no other traffic besides him? The workers in the hotels & restaurants are probably real people those.

Beautiful country, what do you want more than this. When some people in Libya were conviced that democracy is the best and better than their then system under Gaddafi. A country that was the 1 producer of crude in the world, a country with one of the best economy in Africa and in the world but those people decided to revolt against the government which they succeeded. Democracy is currently being run in Libya but people now expressing what thay feel is their freedom killing each other, hunger is every in the country, prostitution is increasing every day, human trafficking and weapons dealing is rampant. Think wise and chose the best system that can move your country forward. A lot of African countries have chosen to copy America's system of governing but poverty is now killing them because it's not relating to their way of lives.

I'm planning a trip. It's about $2,500 to $4000 USD for a guide for the 5 days. It's $101 USD for your 5-day visa and covid test. Hotels can average $50 USD to $180 USD. I'd like to talk to the government about having a yearly bicycle race to boost their economy and promote tourism, from Turkmenbashi on the Caspian Sea on down to Ashgabat. Probably September would be the best time for that.

All these expensive shops in expensive houses with expensive lighting that probably stays powered during the night too, while the population is living in villages with no access to most luxuries other countries take for granted. Beautiful country with beautiful people but it's haunting to think of what could've been.

It would have been more fascinating to meet the people in the villages and towns…explore their history, heritage, and culture than stare at large white buildings and an open pit of methane burning. However, I’m glad you enjoyed yourself and received great hospitality to those who cooked and offered traditional homemade food. Cheers!😊

Its to keep the poor out of the country. These countries want rich people to come in with their cash. A lot of these countries have sanctions placed upon them and this is how they make a portion of their money to help the economy.
