Wow, I really gotta correct all your errors and biases. One of the main metrics should be whether the luggage fits airline's carry on size restrictions. Bags that are taller and thicker easily break those limits and put you at high risk of being forced gate-check or have to pay for it as checked bag. You act like one particular brand doesn't know how create a slightly bigger luggage. This leads to another topic - wheels. Airlines check dimensions including wheels to handles, so that's why smart manufacturers will use a recessed wheel design. You think they eat into the usable space when it's the other way around. Recessed wheels allow one to maximize the actual luggage body size, without exceed the airline limits from wheels to handles. I have flown millions of miles and even I can't eye-ball a wheel design and decide whether it's durable or not, so your wheel assessments are not scientific. One thing that make a difference is a coated wheel or rubberized wheel. That approach reduces direct force that impacts the rod of the wheel assembly. That Samsonite you like, has 2 hard handles on top of being large. It will definitely exceed 22x14x9 size restriction of most US airlines... It's a perfect candidate for forced gatecheck if you run into a picky gate agent or airline.

@@productclashyt I hope I didn't come across as being rude anything like that... The issues I raised are things most people will encounter. Many Amazon reviews saying carry-on bag had a broken wheel or something, it's because they had their carry-on checked by the airlines because it was oversized and the aircraft ran out of bin space.. Airport automated equipment that transports and moves luggage is really really hard on the wheels when they hit a corner or something. I have a $30 cheap hard-shell and a $250 one as my main carry-on. The $30 survived so many trips without issues. Luggage damage rarely comes when normal "carry-on" uses, they are usually as a result of being dragged through uneven pavement in places like Europe, or being checked. As airlines continue to find way to change fees, they are strict at enforcing carry-on size, so I personally consider size is the #1 importance. If you live near an airport, you can take your Samsonite and try the airline sizer, I am very sure it's oversized (wheels to handles) especially with those hard protruding handles.

Way too much camera motion, especially while showing the inside of the bags. Made me dizzy.

After watching your video on underseat bags, I found this one. I am having a time finding a bag that meets Vueling’s carry on requirement of 55x40x20cm, or 21.65”x15.74”x7.87”. It’s that sub-8” requirement that’s throwing a monkey wrench into my quest. I’d appreciate you doing a comparison on INTERNATIONAL airlines carry on sized bags. Thanks for your videos!

I don’t understand why people like clamshell style luggage - yes it’s sturdy but most (especially the larger ones) don’t fit on luggage racks in hotels, much better to get the soft sided ones where you open the lid only.

I have logged multiple millions of butt-in-seat airline miles and I can make a 2-page list of advantages. Some key thoughts: Clamshell gives you almost equal packaging volume on both sides, so you can parallel pack into both sides, i.e., clothes into one side, and shoes/personal care items into another. Soft shell will require you to pack in single sequence, bottom to top. On your hotel check out morning, you will suddenly realize how much more efficient it is to have clamshell. Clamshell can also withstand water or snow much better and much less likely to have them penetrate into your content. Your issue about luggage racks is mostly no longer an issue, especially for carry-on size. Newer hotel designs have integrated luggage rack that's more than enough to handle clamshell opened. Most hotel brands have shifted to this design in the last few years, either as new builds or renovations. Even with the old fashion x-type luggage rack, you can easily open a 20/21/22" clamshell without causing it to tip over or fall off. Plus, you've must not have thought about getting a room with 2 beds, so you can use one bed to sleep and the other to store your opened luggage and for organization.

Airline crew agree and there are only a few (soft sided) brands they buy from.

You missed the fact that although the volume of space can be more on the bigger bags, ……there is a 15 lb. Weight limit on most airlines. So perhaps volume might not be the way to go. Therefore a passenger might be asked to check in their carry on bags, wich is a pain if ya ask me. Keeping it Simple by going “ Less is more “ 😇👍🤷‍♂️ nevertheless it was a good review Brotha 👍
