I have a weird take away from this video, the way you didn't mention the mod movement in the sixties being almost the first androgynous style. I feel like it was an important moment in the History of fashion and find it really weird the focus was on longer hair cuts, it's not like they were just more popular because the mod movement genuinely thrived through all the 60s,70s and eighties and then to make an amazing strong style comeback in the 90s due to British bands like blur

The beaded headbands are also a partial throwback to the 1920s-30s. I think at this junction, humans have done just about everything we can possibly do with our hair. While I've never had hair quite as long as her, I've definitely gone from bra strap length hair to a short pixie cut a couple of times in my life. Usually when you get to that point, you're just done with messing with the long hair and are excited to get rid of it lol. My hairdressers were usually more nervous than I was hahahaha. I will say the worst part is the growing out process. Soooo many awkward in between lengths to get through. I'm lucky that my hair grows incredibly fast, so chopping it all off is never that big of a deal to me.

My hair grows fast as well and have had several long periods where maintaining a short style wasn't feasible.....and then you go in and tell them to cut it all off.....oh, and I want a side shave too....oh, and lets start bleaching it out so it can be purple~......and they just stare with that nervous smile asking, "Oh, are....you super sure?" like five times.... I don't envy them their jobs. I assume most of them are a bit gun shy from having screaming diva meltdowns when they have to snip a few inches off of their crazy client's heat damaged hair and 'butcher' them.... Honestly, girls. Professional hairdresser here, I love your commitment to all that hair getting cut off. The light patches in your hair that you talked about is duotrichochromia (duo= 2, trich= hair/scalp, chroma= colour, meaning 2 hair colours) it is a fairly uncommon mutation but ultimately nothing to worry about besides maybe personal taste. It doesn't make you bald faster or get grey hair faster, it's simply just a patch (or few) of different hair colours. There is a form of duotrichochromia however that is more common in men and that is facial duotrichochromia, where the moustache and the beard are differently coloured, usually the moustache can be lighter than the rest of the facial hair.

You had to have been bouncing around between decades to allow yourself the correct haircut/style, then the amount of editing at the end so its in chronological order! Plus the fact that you cut so much hair without flinching. Finally, you rocked every single cut and style! Ive never been so wowed by a YT video before! Way to go!!! 👏

What I am really getting from this is we, in general, have a tendency to keep getting styles fluffier and fluffier and bigger and bigger until a generation just decides "okay that's enough of that" and suddenly it deflates and the process restarts.

Its also the same with clothing. Things like sleeves and skirts get fuller or longer or in some way slowly evolves into an extreme where you really have nowhere else to go but down. and the it gets slimmer and slimmer until you have nowhere to go but up.

I can’t remember where, but supposedly there was a study that women’s skirts got shorter in general, the better an economy at the time was doing.

I’d have gotten to the 1610’s, and stopped. This must have taken hours upon hours, if not a week. She has determination, and for that, I watched the entire thing.

I truly cannot fathom the amount of work that went into planning this-just incredible!! I hope you enjoy the buzz cut life, and I’m also really excited to see how you rock the short hair in future historical costumes and outfits!

What i appreciate in your video as another history buff is that you didnt just pass the pre 20th century cuts in one century you actually did each decade, something historians in general never seem to do

And we get to see Abby’s mullet in action for part of this! Also, we learn that no matter the decade, Morgan looks awesome in all of the hairstyles. 😉

I was bummed that I couldn't do the proper full graduated cut! We thought about doing it back when we were hanging out a couple months ago, but it wouldn't have been compatible with some of the other styles I wanted to try :/

@@MorganDonner I think they turned out well even without the full cut! Maybe next time you have long hair and need to cut it! (Not sure how quickly your hair grows out.)

Who is Abby?
@FlybyStardancer3 жыл бұрын
@@montyollie Abby Cox is another Costuber who did a video a month ago pointing out that a lot of historical hairstyles were achieved with mullets. And three weeks ago she released a video where they tried a historical black hair dye on some of Morgan's hair too.

Whenever I do anything complicated with my hair, my arms start to hurt. Throughout this entire video I was inwardly wincing, thinking about how tired your arms must have been! Such a fascinating look and great editing :)

My arms get sore doing my hair too. A friend is practicing with her nunchucks to work up the arm strength for doing her hair.

Back in those days, people didn't see it as a chore. They had it harder. You're just lazy.

When I see her holding a scissors, I was like IS SHE GOING TO CUT HER BEAUTIFUL LONG HAIR?? That's A WHOLE COMMITMENT

This. Was. Amazing. I can’t even begin to imagine the planning and coordination to have the hair at the length you needed it for the styles at the time. Such a fun trip through hair history!

It amazes me the amount of commitment she put into this. I could never spend 500 years on a video 🙏

My thoughts during this video: 6:45 min : "What? Did she just cut her hair?!" 31:25 min : "Ok that's what I would call commitment!" 42:19 min : "No way!" 😳 😅 I loved your video, watched the entire transformation and learned a lot about hair style I didn't know before 🤍 Thanks to your commitment for all of us who aren't that brave to try all of these 🙈🤍 and just like someone said before me: This video is a masterpiece 🤍🤍🤍

I've always enjoyed watching people cut their hair without being all dramatic and crybaby about it, but judging from the length of Morgan's hair in the beginning to the end of this video, she is clearly on another level! I am thoroughly amazed!! Not only that, but I sure learned so much and not a second was wasted in this whole 45-minute video. ♡
