What was your favorite part of the run? And what should I do for my next souls-like challenge?

That was a series of bad decisions. 1. You can go under the Hellkite Dragon's legs to get the Claymore or even cut off his tail to get the Drake sword. Both better starting weapons than halberd, crystal sword, or reinforced club. 2. You can parry with just your bare hands, you don't need to use the mail breaker or the parrying dagger. 3. From the big rat fight in the Depths, if you hug the left edge of the slide you can land right before Gaping Dragon fight, and also unlock the shortcut to the bonfire. 4. You never lock on the Gaping Dragon. When he lies down drop a few hits on his tiny head (deals a lot of extra damage) before getting the f out of his way as he will charge right after. Also it's best to cut off his tail so when hitting him from behind you no longer need to worry about getting hit AT ALL. 5. You can still skip Capra Demon, the Depths, and Blighttown without the master key. From the Darkroot Basin bonfire where the Black Knight graciously gave you his halberd you can go to the other side of Valley of the Drakes, and into the back door of Blighttown (make sure to grab the key to unlock the gate to New Londo Ruins). 6. Even if you chose to go through Blighttown normally, it was foolish to not farm some purple and blooming moss caps at the Darkroot Forest (or buy them from the undead merchant in the aqueduct on the way to the Depths) beforehand to fight off some the poison and toxin. 7. Quelaag is best fought with the halberd. If you bonk her on the head from the front she staggers, and you get one extra free hit before you have to leg it to avoid the explosion. 8. In Sen's Fortress you can totally roll past the serpent man on the narrow bridge as he attacks, no need to fight him. 9. In the Anor Londo Silver Knight archers, you approach one so he will switch to his sword and then leg it back to where you came from. He will fall off bu himself, and you don't need to risk fighting him on that tiny ledge. 10. I know it's harder, but if you go no armor, it's better to kill Smaugh first, because super Ornstein drops the Wolf Ring, and buddy, you NEED the extra poise. Maybe with that you wouldn't have died 26 times to the 4 Kings. 11. You never fight Seath from behind unless you wanna go after his tail to get the sword. You go straight up to his face, land some hits, and when he does his super AOE attack, you hide under his armpit (or tentacle pit, idk). 12. Those are not crabs, they are clams. And you avoid them by quitting out after you break the crystal and reloading (unless the "no exploits" part of the challenge includes quitting out to reset enemy aggro). 13. A LOT of things done wrong with Nito. a) You never go after him, you wait for him at the start so you only have to deal with the small skeletons, and don't aggro the giant ones. b) If you block while two handing a polearm (like the Black Knight halberd lmao) the toxic spike shoots up between your legs and misses you entirely. c) You should have equipped a weapon that deals faith damage (like the Silver Knight spear) to not have to deal with the skeletons respawning at all. Especially if you wait for him at the entrance, the skeletons will come first, and after you dispose of them you can calmly change your weapon back to the BK halberd before facing the Gravelord himself. 14. Bed of Chaos. I suppose the firebomb trick violates the "no exploits" rule, but even so, it's better to go for the right side first. There's a part on the left side that avoids EVERYTHING (the sweeps, the fire, the spikes, all of it). You do have to do a pretty dangerous jump to go for the left arm after tho.

@@new2youchallenges90 thank you, I love Dark Souls, and I've finished it many times, all of them with melee builds (different stats/ weapons tho). First time I played it I dropped it when I was in Anor Londo after dying countless times by the archers and O&S. Second time I gave it a go I had a buddy of mine backseat gaming who gave me tips like that, and I enjoyed it a lot more. I'm glad to be that guy for someone else :D

Dark souls 1 felt really easy after I played other souls games. Especially the parrying was very easy and the slow attacks of the bosses were very easy to dodge.

Orn and Smo are easy. Unless you are overleveled and/or keeping the distance.
