Renata K listen i think most people understand now that we like makeup. It can easily make you feel like a goddess when you’re feeling down, can be used as a creative art form and is not only used for creativity outlet or to make yourself feel good if you’ve never had acne, rosacea, dark spots, scaring then you have never and hopefully never will understand that desperation to wear face makeup when you go to the gym, when you have a girlfriend come stay the night even though you’re just drinking wine and talking or go to run to the grocery store for something. That desperation is unbearable at times to feel that ashamed and unable to let go and realize it’s not that big of a deal most people don’t think about it for more than a second and it’s forgotten. Op was saying instead of being paralyzed by the fact that you can’t go out w/o makeup focus on some good skincare it could really turn your confidence around.

Hey Jess! I’m a store manager for a Sephora and we recently did an education on how the brand name was created. The first product that the brand owners were really interested in making was the virgin marula oil. They said that in Africa when elephants eat the fruit that the oil is made from they appear almost intoxicated. So that’s how they came up with the name, I hope that helps😊

Just FYI! (I work for a place that has a lot of brands come and give us talks and teach on their products) -like some other people have mentioned, "Drunk Elephant" name comes from elephants who get "drunk" from eating Marula fruit. DE just uses the nut of the fruit to make their oil, but that's the name. -all of their products are actually made to work together and they even encourage mixing! The rep we had showed us how to mix them in the top of the moisturizer after pumping some up, adding all your faves, swirling together and applying like one product! -Slaai comes with a little tube of very fine bamboo and charcoal exfoliating powder that you're supposed to add to the balm once or twice a week, so it's kind of a 2 in 1! -all of their products are made to keep your skin in the right pH. Most cleansers are way to alkaline, and this can cause issues and is why companies sell "toner" to rebalance your pH but all of the up and down isn't good for skin either. -the babyfacial is like the stronger older sister to the framboos, so it's more for people who need the next step up -Youre not suppose to use the A-Passioni by itself!!!!!!! You're supposed to mix it with a moisturizer, which is why they sell it with the B-Hydra mini I super love love love these in-depth reviews, Jess! And just in general, your videos are always so nice to watch after a rough day 💕🤗

This is the best, most thorough Drunk Elephant video! Thank you for taking the time to make this! I have used many Drunk Elephant products and this gave me ideas of others to try! :) love the products. The price very much reflects the quality! :) the retinol is on my to-get list!

There is a mini night time kit that has travel sizes of the TLC night serum and the marula oil for around $25. I tried that first to make sure I liked both products. They lasted about 3 months using them 3 to 4 times weekly and fell in love with them. Just wanted to mention this as a good option for those who might want to try them.

yess this actually is way cheaper than the full sizes per oz

The B hydra I didn’t like at first either. But a lot of people confuse it with a moisturizer, it’s not. It’s a serum! Once I ran out of my travel size I realized my skin went back to being oily again. It’s not a product you really are wowed over right away. But it does make a difference in my skin! It is much more balanced now. You can mix it with any other drunk elephant serum!

Caroline Hirons is the place to go about retinols/acids.She also has DE brand overview. I'm looking forward to getting round to trying Protini, currently working through some Sunday Riley which I LOVE.

Shona Pushed Play Agree, was surprised that she says parabens are not harmful!??
@shonapushedplay43265 жыл бұрын
@@Zumbunnies I'm not, she's heavily science based and knows how to read studies. We're really fed a lot of lies, particularly by the "clean" movement now making its way into makeup and beauty. A biologist friend of mine corrected me years ago about it and I have since learned a lot more about how to read and assess quality of information and studies myself (not really beauty related, more health for me as my specialist topic).

My "stepping stone" into AHA'S was ordering the nighttime duo from Drunk Elephant so I wasn't breaking the bank, but it was enough for about a month of testing. I had no issues and was applying every night even with "virgin" skin. I loved the TLC but honestly the Sunday Riley Power Couple is my fav. I just started the A-passioni last night!

I’m obsessed with the cleansing bars - the juju bar is my favorite in the morning it gently cleanses and brightens my complexion. I think they are great for if you like a minimal skincare routine.

The B hydra isn’t supposed to be a stand alone it’s a serum.
@PlugInKali5 жыл бұрын
Exactly! It's not a moisturizer! Hyaluronic acid serums need to be topped up with an actual moisturizer. Otherwise they can cause the opposite effect and start drawing moisture from the skin.

I feel like Cerave would be an interesting drugstore brand to explore. I used to use a ton of drunk elephant stuff and switched almost exclusively to cerave when I went back to school and didn’t have the budget for it anymore :p

Elvira S I’m using the cerave skin renewing night cream and really like it, have you used the drunk elephant protini, and how does it compare? I have dryish skin. Thanks for any feedback!

This is so thoughtfully done. Thank you! I haven’t used much from Drunk Elephant but I really love Indeed Labs. Their vitamin c cream was the first thing that made me realize skincare could help my acne scarring. I just started using their peptide cream too and it’s been incredible. Their stuff is powerful and really well priced.

I would love to hear a comparison of the Paula’s choice 1% retinol treatment to the drunk elephant one. I feel like both companies have very similar thoughts on ingredients. While the price difference isn’t too much (about $15) you can more frequently find sales codes for PC.
@sbne105 жыл бұрын
mbmotto they are all most similar! Both yellow and a little bit thick creams I tried them both and didn’t find big differences. But I agree with you that I got the PC for half the price with discount in comparison to the DE price. PC has really good products for a slightly cheaper price.

Your skin is incredible. It’s a real statement to your skincare to put on nothing but concealer and eye makeup and do your video. But you look absolutely awesome. Drunk Elephant is really a great brand, maybe a bit pricey, but it is hard to put a hard price (within reason) on our skin care. And, you are proof it does work. Thank you for a great, honest, informative video. From an avid fan in Texas. 💖

Great video! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Could you do a skincare morning and evening routine video for us? I know you said it changes throughout the week, so maybe show us a full week cycle? I am so happy you are taking the time to take care of your skin and your skin is looking so good. In my experience...the older you get, the less makeup you should wear in order to look youthful, so skincare really matters.
