Remember the shop at round table has the sentry torch, which lets you see invisible black knife assassins, in case one ever cock blocks you. But yeah Wing of Astel is probably the best weapon you could've gotten, if you ever get an INT head piece and some talismans. Iron Balls work as well.

On dual wield weapons like fists, claws or Radahn's greatswords the two handed bonus to strength doesn't apply. Probably because you're not two handing and are still holding one in each hand.

To light up the difficulty, you could remove restriction for weapons. It wont make much difference, since you wont level up stats anyway.

Man I did level 1 run like 6 months ago no randomizer just a fresh game, the whole game 100% without summons all dungeons everything. It was the most painful thing to do tbh. I used every weakness of every enemy you can do and used ashes of war to sometimes stay away from enemies or bosses like thunderbolt or just dodged only entirely if they are easy. Example: I killed the death birds in like 3 or 4 jumps just be putting holy damage on both weapons, radagon is very weak to fire so I used Flame of the Redmanes and fire weapon, Mogh was weak to bleed so I bled him so fast he died shortly after final nihil

If you want a meta weapon use the spike star fists and put cold on them and it’ll do bleed and cold. Plus fastest heavy charge in the game

If u want my personal opinion early game master weapon and sombering for ease upgrades is the bloodhound's fang ease requirements and scales till endgame pretty well and easy to build around,also for final tip I'm pretty sure u have never used it in any run and I've seen them all
