As an operating room nurse- the “presser” is a retractor. We use that to retract the tissue to get to wherever we have to operate. The spoon is a curette that we use mostly for scraping bone- but we use smaller versions. Happy baking! Haha!!

@@oliviadunham27 I wouldn't say _just_ muscles, more soft tissue which includes muscles blood vessels, fat, fibrous tissue, etc. Currettes come in many forms for many uses! They can remove benign/low grade tumors, their used in Tonsillectomies, and many more nonsurgical and surgical procedures (very multi use). As a former wound care specialist we used Curettes on wounds as well. We debride tissue which is just scraping out dead/damaged tissue or foreign objects so bacteria doesn't grow and slow the growth of healthy tissue. Because we try to avoid surgery if we can. The handheld retractor is to hold back tissue or organs so a surgeon can get a clear view of the area, most common one people understand is it's use for is C-sections.
