I'm a hairdresser and I just wanna explain a couple things, the different coloured parts are called banding and this usually happens when you try and bleach natural hair and already coloured hair the same colour. Already coloured hair has been filled with pigment so when you bleach it it removes some of that pigment however the natural hair pigments are much easier to remove so that lighter blonde you're seeing is all of your natural hair colour and the red or darker patches are where you've dyed it before. If you let MIL fix those bits I would love to see your end result because you did really well with no colour theory knowledge! 😊

When bleaching you’re hair you need to bleach it in fine/ small sections and make sure the bleach is so thick on you’re hair that you can not see the hair underneath the bleach. But any ways you did a good job it looks good 😊

This look really suits you and I definitely think you should do one more round of bleaching. Just from my own experience I wouldn't wait a whole month, you don't want a whole bunch of growth coming in makes it a little harder to get everything even. Having to deal with darks roots and being blonde was a nightmare for me so I stick with my dark on top and do the different colors on the underneath. I'd maybe wait two weeks then do the third bleaching, and spend the two weeks doing hair masks or deep conditioning. I'd also love to see you do blue or maybe green when you get ready to do colors again. I feel like blue and green is like the opposite of what you've done before so itd be a nice change. Blue and dark brown are one of my favorite combinations.

Just a tip I want to share with you, but if you want to experiment with more than one color later on after you've had the blonde for a while, I recommend following the color wheel for your hair colors. Like instead of going from like green to pink/red or what ever (just an example of colors opposite from each other on the color wheel) you can go from pink to purple to blue to green etc. because those are all next to each other in the color wheel. I just wait for my pervious color to fade as much as possible and then dye it the next color. It's easier to transition to the next color versus going on the opposite spectrum of the color wheel and you wouldn't have to keep damaging your hair as much with color removers/bleach. I color my hair a lot and I've gone back and forth between colors by doing this so I don't have to keep going back to blonde and damaging it more and more with bleach/color removers. I literally only bleach my hair when ever I'm touching up my roots and it's helped a lot with keeping my hair healthy. Anyways you're hair turned out great and I'm glad you got to experience a new change! Enjoy your new look and whatever else you decide to do with it in the future

I bleach my hair constantly for fashion colors. Ask your mother in law to go to the retail stores that require her license for products. High moisturizing shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, serums. Olaplex had a nice line. Kerastas (sp?) Is really nice too. Repair your hair, bleach again and it'll be great! If you don't want to bleach your hair again, you could do I vibrant fuschia or hot pink, it would cover that fine and look really pretty against your dark hair.

I feel like when melody is older she’s going to look back at your old videos and see how different and fun you’ve become and I feel like that’ll make your relationship stronger. I don't know about making it more pale, with winter coming it could end up making you look alot paler, especially in front of lights. But I still think you'd look amazing. Lauren you have been my hero for years. I remember starting to watch you when I was 8, which was 4 years ago. I've grown up watching you. I remember seeing "I flooded my house with bath bombs" pop up on my recommended page 3 years ago and thinking "what did she do now?". I've moved houses twice, lost and gained family, gone through many friendships, and you're the only thing that stayed the same in my life. I'll admit, when I saw this video on your channel, I was a little upset. Not at you, just the fact that everything is changing so much, so fast. (I'm a bit of a change-phobe) But, now that I've watched it, you've inspired me. For the whole time I've watched you, you have been this purpled-haired, galaxy-loving, bread obsessed, hilarious shining beacon of hope in my life. You were exactly what I needed in my life then, and even now, you still are. I started 7th grade a month ago, and I'm kinda starting out fresh. I had this BFF I made in first grade, and all my friendships sprouted from her, and last year, I lost her. I'm surprised we stayed friends for so long, but when I lost her, I lost everyone. Luckly, I knew two guys in my math class who took me in. I was never alone last year. But, one of the guy's sister, I was friends with. Like, best friends. But, over the summer, I learned she wasn't the nicest person in the word, so I drifted from her. Her brother, I had a crush on, he didn't like me back, so we drifted too. The last guy, he made a new friend, and since I wasn't close with any of his friends anymore, we stopped hanging out. So, new year, blank slate. Wouldn't be so hard if I had more than two people I was still friends with. So, I've had to change, which remind you, I hate. I've had to become more social, put myself out there more, which is really hard for me to do. But, seeing you change yourself in front of 6.76 million people, even though you're scared of the backlash you might get, you still did it. I know for you, it's just changing your hair, but for me, your changing my life. I know you're never gonna read this, but thank you Lauren. For everything over these 4 years, especially this one. So you know what I'm gonna do? I'm change my hair too. I'm gonna change my outside, be more confident, and let the inside catch up to that. And the next school day, I'm gonna march in my school, and make some new friends. Even though it'll be scary, you did something like that too. So I'll have you to thank for that. I absolutely love it. After my 4th baby it took me about 2 1/2 years to finally find who I wanted to be. I ended with a blue with green highlights look and I absolutely love it. As a mom we are so worried about making sure our kids are okay and taken care of that we kind of forget we exists in a way, so when we finally discover and remember "Hey, I'm still here" sometimes the change is the most amazing feeling we could have. Way to go, I love the new hair, and new you.

I've bleached my hair once, maybe twice, and that was with the help of my mom. I think I learned the hard way to put a bit of vaseline around your hairline where the bleach is going (or at least over any acne/pimples) so that it doesn't sting. And also! You did great, it looks lovely! :]

As someone who has bleached their hair at the age of 10, I can vouch the smell is horrible along with the process being nerve wrecking, but in the end it works it and will always look amazing on you. P.S: Even if you don’t have bleached hair you still look amazing!
