I tried Carol's Daughter Coco Creme Moisturizing Butter and this is what happened....| Demo & Review

Hi NaturalRaeRae. My hair did not like this product at all. That cream tried to suffocate the life out of my hair with the oily film that it left. A good clarifying shampoo session brought it back to life from the darkness of a dry, dull, and matted mess. However, my curls did have mild PTSD (Post Traumatic Styling Disorder) from the ordeal but deep conditioning has helped. I know it sounds mad dramatic but hopefully, I made you laugh. If you decide to use Post Traumatic Styling Disorder in your next video remember where you heard it first! :) By the way, good honest review video.

You probably felt a coating on your hair because you only need to use a little bit. I have been using it since it hit the stores. Love it. Sorry it didn't work for you.

You could be right; however, I don't think I used anymore of that than I do any other twisting product and my hair doesn't feel coated. It is something in the product that just doesn't agree with my hair and that's okay. I know a lot of people love it so it's probably just not for me. Thanks for watching!

Aw, bummer. I'm so sorry it didn't work for you. I just recently used the Coco Creme about a week and a half ago for the first time. I filmed it too, but haven't edited the footage yet so it will be up on my channel in the near future. But I totally understand your review. I loved how my twists felt with the Creme in them and when I unraveled WITHOUT separating the definition was amazing and beautiful. As soon as I started separating I got a frizzy mess that did not look good on me at all and there was nothing I could do to make it look any better. I re-tried the Creme doing full flat twists instead so that I would not have to separate the clumps of hair, just unravel the flat twists only and leave each section of the flat twist in tact. That seemed to work much better for my hair. I need to keep experimenting with the Creme but I feel like it works great for me if I wanted to install twists and leave them in for one week and that's it. Honestly you gave me some laughs during this video when you were clearly hating the results :) Good thing it's quarantine time, right!! Nobody gets to see our hair fails out in the public :D

It does seem as if you understand. I don't think I'm going to keep experimenting, I just don't like the coated feeling or the heaviness. I was trying to make it work, but by the end, I just gave up....I'm glad you found some humor in it, especially at this time. And yes, I'm glad I didn't have to go out in public....ROTFL. I hope you put your video up, I'd love to see it.

I love this product! But I’ve never use me it with a leave in. Just use the product, not too much, topped with some Uncle Funky’s Daughter for a bomb, moisturized wash & go. It’s really interesting how different things work for different hair - or not, lol. I have type 4a/b coils, but my strands are fine & only medium density. But enjoyed the video. (And frankly, you’ve reminded me to go digging in my stash to grab this for my next wash day, lol).

I need your help im a kid and i dont have that much money on me and i bought it and it did exactly what you saud it was very drying and i dont have any other leave ins .can you suggest some moisturized leave in for low porosityt hair

I love it❤ my hair loves bees wax(heavy creams)especially in the Florida heat.i use it with gel for a perfect wash and go ✨

It might have been the coconut oil and the wax as well. I can see the dullness on camera. I purchased the gel and got flakes, I think Im done with Carols Daughter

For once this is one of CD products that actually worked.. it has left my hair very moisturized. I have 4 A/BC hair.. I started with the shampoo and conditioner just to make sure it was a fluke, then I recently purchased the hair mask and curl cremè. The retention of moisture is by far my biggest issue while being natural, this product assisted me with my moisture retention goals. My normal choices are MissJessies curly meringue and condish. Oh yea one more thing , the product does not flake and I 💗 that.

I tried this product as well because I saw it work so well for someone else and I wanted something that may give a little more hold than the Cantu Leave-In Repair Conditioning Cream (that is my holy grail). While this product gave me definition for days where I didn't have to manipulate my hair so often throughout the week, I couldn't help but be displeased with the waxy/'dry' feeling that was left on my hands and in my hair. Oddly enough, my hair is soft where it did feel and look fluffy as the days went on. But it's not the kind of soft I feel when I use the Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream. There was one day where I sprayed water on it and my hand literally slipped/skipped across my sections rather than smooth. It was a weird feeling almost similar to that of when I applied the Softee Indian Hemp Hair and Scalp grease to my hair after spraying it with water. The Carol's Daughter Moisturizing Butter left what felt like a waxy and dry feeling to my hair (although my hair had movement and definition where I could separate and have defined curls as the days went on). It may be the beeswax indeed. Another pro is that it smells great and a little goes a long way. I put Nature's Blessing Pomade on top and it did soften my hair to the feel I appreciate on my hair.

I’m about to try it again since I cut all the dead hair off. It wasn’t doing much when my hair was longer. I did see a little more definition with less. I thought your hair looked good

Same here. Idk if I used it wrong but it made my hair dry af. I was so disappointed cause this product was so hyped on youtube. It gave my definition applying but baby when it dried... my cantu curling creme give me more definition than that. Maybe cause I rushed and did large sections but my hair was crunchy af so idk

It didn't give enough moisture for me even for that. My hair was in twists for two days drying and when I took them out as you could see, my hair felt and looked dry. I hope that works for you, let me know. Thanks for watching!

Your hair doesn't look moisturized. Your roots don't have a definition like they usually do. When you do a twist out your hair would be defined from the roots to the tips. Plus, your hair would move too. Oh, yeah, and your hair would-be moisturized too.
